    Nutrition in Detention Field Officer

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
    • Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct
    • Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
    • Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times
    • Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times
    • Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers
    • Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC
    • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary
    • Supports the Detention Nutritionist in the analysis, definition, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the nutrition in detention program
    • Liaises and builds networks with the NPS authorities, the MoH and other actors involved in food and nutrition in prisons in order to facilitate communication and on coordination of activities that are aimed at ensuring more efficient access to food in detention
    • Contribute in the assessment, analysis and monitoring of the food chain in prisons including budget and procurement, food supply/production, food storage, food transformation/preparation, food distribution and food consumption.
    • Supports the Nutritionist in Detention in the implementation of procedures and tools for an adequate food and nutrition system in different places of detention (ie. Recommended diet, food procurement, food storage, food preparation, cooking and handling instruction, treatment and management of adult malnutrition);
    • Upon request, prepares and conducts field trips independently according to the plan of activities set by nutritionist in detention Delegate

    Education and Experience Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nurse, Nutritional Science or Public Health, or equivalent work experience
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in detention, nutrition or health field
    • Advanced ability to converse in English and other Nigerian’s local languages
    • Knowledge of prison authorities or other stakeholders, potential network of interlocutors
    • Expert level in computer skills
    • Skilled in the following competencies: Networking & Communication; Adapting & Learning; Responsibility & Autonomy; Communication (ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis

    Social Media Manager


    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Using accepted best practices, develops digital strategies, leading on content execution and engagement with priority audiences.
    • Design and implement social media strategy that supports the delegation's operational priorities and public communication objectives.
    • Monitor Search Engine Optimization and web traffic metrics
    • Promotes innovative digital products and keeps abreast of latest trends on digital content.
    • Creates, edits, repurposes and publishes a wide variety of engaging content for digital channels, using audiovisual products (videos, photos, etc.); provides the archives with appropriate versions of these digital materials for reuse.
    • Ensures the accurate, timely and effective delivery of digital content, optimized for search and audience engagement, partnering with Audiovisual Producers, social media leads, Web Editors and Digital Officers both at headquarters and in the regional communication centres and delegations.
    • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor target audience reviews
    • Oversee social media accounts design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures)
    • Identifies and seizes reactive opportunities, contributing digital input to quick turn-around campaigns, working internally with Public Relations Officers and externally with media counterparts.
    • Trains, guides and supports colleagues in managing and reporting on digital platforms and activities; advises and supports them in their ongoing activities.
    • Supervises ad buys to ensure positioning of the ICRC on key contexts, themes and issues, coordinating with the digital marketing lead at headquarters.

    Education and Experience Required

    • Experience in publishing and engaging using social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
    • Good eye for design and ability to source and do basic edits with images/video. Skilled computer user of web publishing (content management systems, including Drupal and/or WordPress) and design tools an advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of digital performance metrics and website analytics. Understanding of content marketing is a must. Experience in web editing and familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO).
    • Degree in Communications, Marketing or Journalism, preferably with a digital background and specialization (managing websites, social media platforms, video projects, etc.).
    • Familiarity with social ads management (Google Ads, Facebook, Twitter).
    • 5-7 years' experience in digital communication/internal communication, and in event management an advantage.

    • Passion for social media management
    • Team player and ability to take initiative, work with minimal supervision
    • Availability to travel to the remote locations;
    • Ability to multitask and deliver results on time, to a high standard and under pressure

    ICT Specialist 1

    Main duties and responsibilities

    • Offers 1st and 2nd  level service desk support to users in Abuja and other ICRC offices in Nigeria
    • Installs, updates and maintains ICT and Telecom infrastructure of all ICRC offices in Nigeria.
    • Manages ICT stock and inventory database
    • Ensures that global/country-level policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
    • Briefs, advises and trains end-users on the ICRC's ICT systems.
    • Drafts and updates technical documentation for all IT equipment.
    • Carries out the duties of ICT Specialist 2 when s/he is absent.
    • Installs, updates and maintains ICT and Telecom setup of all ICRC offices in Nigeria.
    • ICT Inventory Attribution and Management   
    • ICT Services, System and Infrastructure

    Education and Experience Required

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent higher education degree in ICT domain (Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer science or similar field). Post Graduate or Master's Degree is an asset.
    • 2-3 years of experience in IT, electronics or similar position.

    Desired profile and Skills:

    • Excellent command of written and spoken English
    • Capacity to integrate and implement ICRC policies and procedures
    • Skilled in the following competencies: Adapting & Learning; Planning, Organization & Assessment; Communication (Ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis
    • Understanding of telecom especially VHF, HF and satellite.
