    Grant Officer

    Role Purpose

    The Grant Officer will lead resource mobilization and donor compliance for OLRF. A primary focus of this role is securing sustainable, multi-year funding to meet the ambitious targets of the A Million Dream Educational Scholarship Initiative, while also supporting our emergency relief and health interventions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Grant Sourcing & Proposal Writing

    • Identify and pursue funding opportunities from embassies, international foundations, UN agencies, USAID, EU, and corporate CSR partners.
    • Develop high-quality proposals and concept notes specifically tailored to the A Million Dream framework, including:
      • Basic Education (30%): Fee support and learning materials for primary/junior secondary pupils.
      • Transition Support (50%): Merit-based sponsorships for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and tertiary admissions.
      • Tertiary Retention (20%): Financial aid for students at risk of dropout.
    • Design complex logframes and budgets that reflect the project’s national scale (36 states + FCT).

    Grant Management & Reporting

    • Maintain a master tracker for all grants, deadlines, and donor requirements.
    • Collaborate with State Coordinators and project teams to gather data for narrative and financial reports.
    • Ensure all interventions—from school bag distributions to tertiary tuition payments—are documented with the transparency required by international donors.
    • Oversee compliance regarding procurement, safeguarding, and donor visibility across all project sites.

    Donor Relations & Strategy

    • Build a pipeline of long-term partners interested in a 10-year educational roadmap.
    • Develop impact stories and case studies from the 100,000 annual beneficiaries to demonstrate the ROI of OLRF’s interventions.
    • Support the Executive Director in high-level networking and fundraising events in Abuja and beyond.

    Eligibility Requirements

    Requirement  

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Experience: 2–4 years in grant writing/reporting within the NGO sector. Proven success in securing 7-figure (NGN) or international grants.
    • Project Knowledge: Experience with large-scale educational interventions or scholarship management is a distinct advantage.
    • Technical Skills: Mastery of MS Office/Google Workspace; ability to build complex project budgets and logic models.
    • Travel: Willingness to travel across Nigeria to monitor project implementation and meet donors.
