LEAP’s activity is broadly categorized into Youth LEAP, Business LEAP and eLEAP to address these focal points working with entrepreneurs and youth. Key areas include youth development, employability, entrepreneurship, social responsibility, social innovation and SME development.
Since inception, LEAP has successfully launched in 26 cities including the FCT in collaboration with international communities, state government, leading financial institutions and non-profit organizations across the world. LEAP’s trainings have also been delivered in African countries such as Burundi, Rwanda and Ghana. These programmes have impacted over 45, 000 Nigerians to lead ethically, become change agents and high performing individuals. Its youth beneficiaries have initiated over 1, 000 high-impact community change projects across Nigeria.
Driven by our vision to be recognized as the premier resource centre for developing dynamic, innovative and principled African leaders who will drive Africa’s realization of its full potential, LEAP has published 11 business and youth themed books which are used as practical case studies, worksheets and tools by practitioners and trainers across Nigeria. LEAP has also converted some of them to ebooks and is creating e-learning curriculum to reach millions across Africa.
LEAP Africa has several special projects running in Nigeria. It partnered with the Aspen Institute, Databank Foundation (Ghana) and Technoserve to launch the Africa Leadership Initiative (ALI) West Africa, an initiative that develops a new generation of community-spirited leaders in Ghana and Nigeria. In addition, LEAP, in collaboration with the African Leadership Institute launched the Nigeria 2025 Project, designed to develop a series of scenarios on how Nigeria could evolve in the future.
In 2013 it partnered with Dell and Computer Aid International on Powering the Possible Youth Learning Project- to provide computer literacy skills to public secondary school students in Lagos.
LEAP Programmes has received funding from Ford Foundation, Citi Foundation, Nokia, Microsoft, International Youth Foundation, TY Danjuma Foundation, MTN Nigeria, the United States Government, UK Government, the World Bank and supported by many Nigerian organizations.
