  • Community Health Extension Worker

    The Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) will support clinical and preventive healthcare services at ComfortCare Pharmaceuticals. The role involves assisting in patient care, conducting basic health checks, administering approved vaccines, providing health education, and supporting pharmacists in delivering quality healthcare services.

    The ideal candidate should possess good clinical knowledge, a strong understanding of common medications, and the ability to interact professionally with patients.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Conduct basic patient health assessments such as blood pressure, blood glucose, temperature, and weight monitoring.
    2. Assist in vaccination and immunization services under the supervision of the Pharmacist Manager.
    3. Provide health education and counseling to patients on disease prevention, medication adherence, and healthy lifestyle practices.
    4. Support pharmacists in dispensing activities and patient care services.
    5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation for clinical services provided.
    6. Assist in chronic disease monitoring programs (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis management).
    7. Observe and report any medication-related concerns or patient reactions to the supervising pharmacist.
    8. Promote the pharmacy’s health services, wellness programs, and preventive care initiatives.
    9. Ensure cleanliness and proper organization of clinical equipment and service areas.
    10. Adhere strictly to ComfortCare Pharmaceuticals' SOPs, ethics, and patient care standards.

    Requirements

    1. Diploma or certification as a Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) from a recognized institution.
    2. Valid professional license/registration where applicable.
    3. Good knowledge of drugs and common medications, including indications, basic dosing awareness, and patient counseling points.
    4. Experience in community health services, pharmacy, or clinical settings is an advantage.
    5. Good communication and patient relationship skills.
    6. Ability to work in a fast-paced community pharmacy environment.
    7. Strong attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism.
