    Protocol and Event Coordinator

    Description

    • Ready to lead a new era in African football?
    • You believe you have the educational background and professional experience to elevate the organization to the highest international standards? CAF is looking to recruit a Protocol and Event Coordinator
    • CAF is looking for a Protocol and Event Coordinator, to ensure the successful operational delivery of the biennial competition, we have set up a local events team. Its aim is to improve the experience of teams, guests, fans, and spectators by delivering successfully across all operational areas.
    • This role is a temporary contract, and the role will be based in Côte d'Ivoire. 

    Responsibilities

    • Support the Protocol & Event Manager with developing and implementing the CAF Protocol guidelines for the tournament. 
    • Coordinate arrangements and contacts with internal departments, external stakeholders, and guest groups. 
    • Plan and coordinate specific assigned tasks in accordance with the project outline. 
    • Prepare Protocol specific training documents for event workforce, contractual partners, and service providers.
    • Act as a liaison with internal CAF departments and external stakeholders such as government agencies and embassies on Protocol and invitation-management topics for the tournament.
    • Administer all protocol services, including preparing seating documents, advising on forms of address and ceremonial matters and welcoming guests.
    • Use of event-specific tools and cooperation on the further development of an event-specific IT environment.
    • Draft accurate and timely progress reports for the line manager.
    • Prepare site visits and inspections.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, or related fields.
    • Relevant work experience and strong knowledge of Protocol and/or experience engaging with people in particular positions of influence and importance.
    • 1 to 3 years in hospitality and/or guest services in the event industry or large-scale guest servicing operations.
    • Fluent in English and French Languages, both written and spoken; command of (Arabic and/or Portuguese) is a Plus.
    • Ideally experience within a sport/event organisation or in a mega project, preferably a world class sport event.
    • Strong administrative skills and exceptional attention to detail. 
    • High level of diplomacy and customer service.

    Protocol and Event Manager

    Overview

    • CAF is looking for a Protocol and Event Manager, to ensure the successful operational delivery of the biennial competition, we have set up a local events team.
    • Its aim is to improve the experience of teams, guests, fans, and spectators by delivering successfully across all operational areas. This role is a temporary contract, and the role will be based in Côte d'Ivoire. 

    Responsibilities

    • Build a hospitality concept for VIP/VVIP lounges.
    • Support and supervise the planning and implementation of all VIP platforms (hospitality/seating) during the tournament.
    • CAF Club:
      • Create a new concept, including branding, set-up, look and feel, printed and other material.
      • Manage the relevant guest list and arrange access to the club.
      • Coordinate at events, daily planning, price monitoring.
      • Procurement and contracts for the CAF Club.
      • Take care of VIP coordinators (linked to CAF Club and VIP/VVIP guest management (including training sessions and briefings).
    • Responsible for allocated VIP guest management activities at the tournament.
    • Guest management: Provide support to teams, where necessary.
    • Responsible for the coordination and distribution of all VIP tickets in the area of responsibility.
    • Plan staffing needs for on-site guest management, including the training of VIP coordinators.
    • Coordinate VIP invitations in close cooperation with the relevant CAF departments and divisions (Competitions, Commercial, Travel & Accommodation, Executive Office of the President, Office of the Secretary General, etc.) 
    • Provide support for the on-site implementation of CAF protocol (including the seating tool).
    • Produce a final report for the tournament, identifying possible improvements for future events.
    • Draw up and administer guest lists (master guest list).
    • Use of event-specific tools and cooperation on the further development of an event-specific IT environment.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, or related fields.
    • Commercial Training, Event Management training, or equivalent basic training.  
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience in event accommodation management.
    • Fluent in English and French Languages, both written and spoken; command of (Arabic and/or Portuguese) is a Plus.
    • Extensive experience in VIP guest management and event management.
    • Excellent organisational skills.
    • Detail-oriented working methods.
    • Structured approach and ability to grasp abstract concepts.

    Workforce Manager

    Overview

    • CAF is looking for a Workforce Manager, to ensure the successful operational delivery of the biennial competition, we have set up a local events team. Its aim is to improve the experience of teams, guests, fans, and spectators by delivering successfully across all operational areas.
    • This role is a temporary contract, and the role will be based in Côte d'Ivoire. 

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for workforce planning, administration & logistics for the tournament in conjunction with the respective project lead. 
    • Build, sustain, and clarify country-specific people processes, policies, and procedures. Create a consistent business practice and consider local needs.
    • Develop and implement Workforce Experience Service Excellence.
    • Lead Workforce Planning for the tournament and the overall Total Workforce approach.
    • Develop, implement and be the main responsible for the ‘flexible workforce’ strategy, this includes the development of the concept and implementation (including capture of demand).
    • Manage the strategic overview of total Workforce for the Tournament and agree on the Workforce budget and calendar.
    • Ensure that all planned roles are filled with qualified workforce members out of the available pool of staff, freelancers, member association staff, volunteers, etc. 
    • Development of an innovative Workforce IT Solution (Workforce Management Module and Freelancer Database), in order to ensure that Workforce Management adds value to CAF tournaments and events.
    • Recruit, screen and manage freelancers – building a global talent pool.
    • Develop e-learning modules and content for freelancers.
    • Manage contracting of all external workforce members on behalf of respective project leads.
    • Assign service-levels for event-time service and other needs, such as accommodation, mobiles phones, travel & transport requirements, etc. for all the CAF different workforce-member groups.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, HR, Workforce Management, or related fields. 
    • At least 5-years of relevant experience in workforce management at major sporting events.
    • Experience in the delivery of large-scale sporting events, preferably across continents or regions. 
    • Fluent in English and French Language both written and spoken; command of any of the other CAF official languages (English, French or Arabic) is a Plus.
    • Able to operate and communicate with senior stakeholders.
    • Innovative and Service-focused.
    • Ability to remain calm in highly pressured and fast-moving environments.

    IT Support Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in projects to deliver Technology services at the tournament, covering project management, service delivery and operational management.
    • Manage and coordinate internal resources and 3rd party suppliers to ensure expected service delivery and project deliverables are met.
    • Oversee the effective and efficient provision of Technology services for the tournament, including requirement capturing and developing delivery plans.
    • Responsible for planning and managing the Technology operations for the tournament.
    • Plan and manage the mobilisation of Technology staff and Technology contractors for them to perform their duties, including travel, accommodation, meals, accreditation, uniforms, etc
    • Responsible for coordinating the forecast, allocation, distribution, and recovery of CAF Technology assets in all venues of the tournament.
    • Work closely with different client groups to understand the business needs.
    • Develop a thorough understanding of relevant business processes in order to translate business requirements into corresponding Technology Services.
    • Contribute to the development, enforcement, and maintenance of relevant policies, standards, procedures, measures for Event Technology.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or similar. 
    • At least 5 years’ experience in IT network and infrastructure delivery or Technology program/project management, preferably in sports event management.
    • Fluent in English and/or French Language both written and spoken; command of any of the other CAF official languages (English, French or Arabic) is a Plus.
    • Proven record of successful deliveries of various complexities within Global and Multi-cultural organizations.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
    • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Marketing and Communication Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Manage daily marketing and sponsorship activations with Commercial Affiliates.
    • Establish mutually beneficial marketing relationship that will guide the strategic development and execution of marketing activations, with an emphasis on unlocking value exchange.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key commercial partners and internal CAF stakeholders.
    • Acquire knowledge of CAF Commercial Affiliates rights and commitments in order to identify relevant and meaningful marketing opportunities.
    • Support the Marketing Rights Delivery team on-site for the tournament in the competition’s venues. 
    • Acquire new sponsorships while managing current sponsors.
    • Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders.
    • Submit regular reports about revenues, and targets. 
    • Liaises with key departmental leaders and teams to assist with developing and implementing marketing plans and goals.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communication or Related Fields. 
    • At least 5-years of relevant experience in marketing or client servicing within a global brand or agency and event management background.
    • Good working knowledge of digital and social media platforms.
    • Fluent in English and/or French Language both written and spoken; command of any of the other CAF official languages (English, French or Arabic) is a Plus.
    • Experience delivering marketing communications plans using a mixture of online and offline digital, social, and traditional media.
    • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and at a senior level.
