Role Overview
The HR Manager will be responsible for building and scaling Salario’s people operations as the company grows. This role will own the end-to-end HR function including talent acquisition, employee lifecycle management, performance management, compliance, and culture while partnering closely with leadership to align people strategy with business objectives.
You will design and implement HR systems, policies, and processes that support a high-performance, compliant, and employee-centric organization, with particular focus on fintech, payroll, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & People Operations
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with Salario’s business goals and growth plans.
- Build scalable people operations processes to support a growing, high-performing team.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on people-related matters.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
- Own end-to-end recruitment for technical, product, operations, finance, and commercial roles.
- Design and manage structured hiring processes, including role scoping, interviews, and onboarding.
- Build Salario’s employer brand to attract top fintech and technology talent.
- Manage relationships with recruiters, hiring partners, and talent platforms.
Employee Lifecycle & Performance Management
- Oversee onboarding, confirmation, performance reviews, promotions, and exits.
- Design and manage performance management frameworks aligned with company goals.
- Support managers in setting clear KPIs, OKRs, and development plans.
- Drive employee engagement, feedback, and retention initiatives.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Coordination
- Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits frameworks.
- Support salary benchmarking, increments, and incentive programs.
- Work closely with Finance and Payroll teams to ensure accurate payroll inputs and employee data.
- Manage employee benefits, leave policies, and wellness initiatives.
HR Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and HR regulatory requirements.
- Draft, implement, and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and contracts.
- Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
- Support audits and documentation related to HR compliance and governance.
Culture, Learning & Development
- Promote Salario’s values and foster a strong, performance-driven culture.
- Design learning and development programs for individual and leadership growth.
- Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
- Drive diversity, inclusion, and workplace best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 3–8 years of HR experience, preferably in fintech, tech, startup, or high-growth environments.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience building HR systems and processes from scratch or scaling them rapidly.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-management skills.
