We are seeking an experienced Qualitative and Quantitative Interviewer to conduct in-depth interviews and gather data using Key Informant Interviews (KII), Pooling Booth System (PBS), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to extract valuable insights from diverse groups of participants.
Responsibilities
To conduct qualitative and/or quantitative interviews based on study protocol/training guidelines, ensuring that daily interview targets are met.
To prepare and have all the necessary supplies: e.g., tablets, guidelines, a pen or pencil, audio- recorders, administrative form, etc.
To obtain Informed Consent and ensure confidentiality of information given by study participants.
To make the participants comfortable and at ease before and during interview processes.
To read each question aloud exactly as it is written in the questionnaire (tablet). However, the interviewer should also be capable of rephrasing the questions albeit not changing its context.
To listen carefully and without judgment to the respondent’s answers and comments
To accurately record the respondent’s answers on the tablet (questionnaire)/checklist according to instructions
To probe for additional information during interview when necessary
To ask the supervisor for assistance whenever there is a concern not covered.
Not to give advice to respondents but to refer them to the team supervisor.
Conduct all delegated work as may be assigned by the state supervisor/line managers.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must have at least B.Sc or its equivalent.
Must have 3-5 years working experience.
Able to use an android device proficiently.
A previous history of engaging in similar research is an advantage.
Must be a good team player.
Must be literate in English; and able to develop field reports.
The ability to speak local languages is also an advantage.
