    Program Officer

    The Programs Officer will be responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of all RIO Foundation programs and projects. The role ensures that all activities are delivered effectively, on time, within scope and budget, and in alignment with organizational goals, donor requirements, and community needs.

    The ideal candidate will play a key role in strengthening program impact through effective management, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement of project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the design, planning, and implementation of programs and projects.
    • Develop detailed work plans, budgets, timelines, and activity schedules.
    • Coordinate field activities and engage with beneficiaries, partners, and community stakeholders.
    • Monitor and evaluate program performance using defined indicators and tools.
    • Collect, analyze, and document program data, outcomes, and success stories.
    • Prepare timely narrative and financial reports for management and donors.
    • Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify risks in program implementation and recommend mitigation strategies.
    • Support proposal writing and concept note development when required.
    • Organize trainings, workshops, and community outreach activities.

    Requirements / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
    • 2–5 years of experience in program or project coordination within an NGO or development organization.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Experience with donor-funded projects is an added advantage.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
    • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
