    Head of Human Resource

    Description

    We are seeking a Head of Human Resources for a professional services firm located in Lagos, Nigeria. This critical role will lead the scaling of their Human Resources functions, inclusive of Culture, Transformation, Leadership Development, and Talent Acquisition in support of an ongoing company-wide Transformation.

    This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced, strategically minded, and well-rounded HR professional capable of building the foundations for all things Human Capital that align and support growth. As part of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the MD. You will drive, create and optimize people-centered solutions and culture anchored around solid leadership principles. You will be the advisor and business partner to the other executive and senior leaders to drive lasting, transformative change across the organization.

    The successful candidate for this role should have proven experience aligning strategic business needs with HR support and talent-focused solutions to help achieve both short and long-term business goals. This role requires exceptional consultative skills and a passion for driving culture and being a strong influencer. This firm is well known for its entrepreneurial spirit and for having a strong values-driven, innovative culture. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate interpersonal awareness to effectively build and sustain strong partnerships with trust and credibility across the business and must be an exceptional communicator.

    Responsibilities

    • Function as the recognised expert on organisational issues and serve as a trusted advisor and business partner to the firm’s leadership team
    • Work with business unit leaders to define, develop and maintain a culture that inspires and fosters high employee performance and engagement/retention; a culture centered on “Teamwork, Ownership, and Humility”
    • Work with the leadership team to develop and implement Human Resources related strategies, initiatives, and goals that support business objectives – 1–3-year plans
    • Provide day-to-day guidance to cross-functional leadership on coaching, counseling, career development, and performance management
    • Design and build-out HR organization to relevant (cost/effectiveness/need-based ratios) scale over time
    • Drive a Talent Acquisition function (internal or external) that can meet the talent needs across the company
    • Provide guidance on Employee Relations matters and conduct investigations, as needed
    • Ensure policies, practices, and programs are administered in a fair and consistent manner
    • Establish scalable developmental programs to enhance employees’ leadership skills
    • Partner with business leaders to identify and develop internal talent, reward high performers, and improve retention across the organisations

    Requirements

    • A strong track record of operating at a senior level in HR (10 years +) and operating in a high-performance culture
    • Minimum degree level and CIPM, CIPD or equivalent
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills and leadership abilities
    • Ability to develop your team and instill group customer-centric values
    • Demonstrated ability to think, act and plan strategically for talent and talent development
    • Experience working with employees at all levels
    • Strong business acumen, curiosity, learning agility, and learning/growth mindset
    • Ability to assess and translate workforce implications, and identify relevant solutions
    • Strong assessor of talent and able to coach for development, with exceptional consultative and facilitation skills and ability to influence senior leaders
    • Collaborative and drives alignment and teamwork within and across the team
    • Strong communication, both verbal and written

    Human Resource Consultant

    Description

    We are a managing consulting and business advisory firm, and we are seeking to recruit a consultant in the HR space within our People Transformation team, to lead a variety of human resource projects and provide fruitful human capital advice, as well as implement strategic HR plans and technology for our clients.

    Key Accountabilities:

    This role reports to her/his Practice Leader and is responsible for:

    • Initiate and lead HR programs and projects
    • Select and implement suitable HR technology
    • Managing the professional staff assigned to her/his staff group.
    • Following up assigned leads and preparing proposals.
    • Managing client and internal assignments.
    • The people Transformation product and service development.
    • Formulate strategic and practical plans to address human resource matters for our clients
    • Assist in external recruiting, training and management of personnel
    • Refurbish knowledge of advancements in the field and present new ideas for internal and external clients
    • Review systems and processes and make modifications to address issues
    • Help establish control systems for compliance with business methods and HR practices for external clients
    • Devise plans and techniques to drive change and culture management for our clients

    Requirements

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Proven experience as HR consultant within the consulting space.
    • BSc/BA in human resources, business administration, Psychology or relevant field;
    • MSc/MA in human resources will be a plus
    • Relevant professional certification
    • Experience in project management preferably HR related
    • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, functions, methods and best practices
    • Excellent communication and consulting skills
    • Strategic thinker and problem-solver and a team player
    • Has written reports on complex subjects that demonstrate the possession and application of the required skills.
    • At least 10years of experience, in which 6years is in managerial position.
    • Sound general business knowledge, including the structure and operations of some major businesses, different business policies, different leadership styles, and the problems that typically confront executives.
