Role Overview
The Human Resources Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Human Resources function, ensuring that people strategies, policies, and processes support business objectives.
The successful candidate will oversee talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR operations and labour law compliance while fostering a productive and high-performing workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and initiatives that support the company’s business objectives, growth, and expansion plans.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and talent development across technical, operational, and administrative functions.
- Design and manage performance management systems, ensuring employee KPIs and objectives align with organisational goals.
- Lead learning and development initiatives, including graduate trainee, technical, leadership, and employee development programmes.
- Manage compensation, benefits, payroll, salary structures, and statutory obligations, including PAYE, pension and NSITF.
- Oversee employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievance management and workplace dispute resolution while ensuring compliance with Nigerian labour laws.
- Ensure HR policies, SOPs, employee records, and documentation are maintained and effectively implemented across the organisation.
- Drive the adoption of digital HR systems and provide regular HR reports, dashboards, and workforce insights to management.
- Partner with senior management and department heads on organisational development, workforce planning, culture, and people-related business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years’ progressive experience in Human Resources, with experience in a managerial or supervisory HR role.
- Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws, statutory compliance, HR policies, and employee relations.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and HR operations.
- Experience developing and implementing HR policies, systems, and processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and people-management skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to use HR data to support management decisions.
- Experience in agribusiness, FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment is an advantage.
