    Research Officer

    Position Overview:

    • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Manager to lead our organization's research initiatives and contribute to evidence-based advocacy, policydevelopment, and programming.
    • The Research Manager will be responsible for designing and conducting research projects, analyzing data, producing reports, and disseminating findings to inform decision-making and advance sexual and gender minority rights and equality.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Research Planning and Design:

    • Develop and implement a research agenda aligned with the organization's strategic priorities and advocacy objectives.
    • Design research methodologies, data collection tools, and sampling strategies tailored to the specific needs and contexts of TPLPI-targeted communities.
    • Ensure research activities adhere to ethical principles and human subjects protocols, and obtain necessary approvals from institutional review boards or ethics committees.
    • Carrying out desktop research related to inequality and social innovation practice globally, using a range of methods and data sources.

    Data Collection and Analysis:

    • Oversee the implementation of research projects, including data collection, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and participatory methods.
    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate statistical and analytical techniques, software, and tools.
    • Interpret research findings, identify trends, patterns, and insights, and draw conclusions to inform policy and programming.
    • Manage and maintain the TPLPI research database

    Report Writing and Dissemination:

    • Prepare research reports, briefs, and presentations summarizing key findings, conclusions, and recommendations for internal and external audiences.
    • Ensure research outputs are accessible, engaging, and tailored to diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, advocates, activists, and community members.
    • Disseminate research findings through publications, conferences, workshops, webinars, and other platforms to maximize impact and influence.
    • Prepare research abstract for internal and external use (conference, symposium, event, campaign, etc)

    Collaboration and Partnerships:

    • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, academic institutions, and research networks to leverage expertise, resources, and opportunities for collaboration.
    • Foster relationships with researchers, scholars, and practitioners working on sexual and gender minority issues to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and promote collaboration.
    • Represent the organization in research-related forums, conferences, and working groups to showcase our work and contribute to broader discussions on LGBTQI rights and equality.

    Capacity Building and Training:

    • Provide training and technical assistance to staff, volunteers, partners, and community members on research methods, ethics, and data analysis.
    • Build the research capacity of TPLPI and other organizations through workshops, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
    • Support the development of research skills, competencies, and resources within the organization to sustain a culture of evidence-based practice and learning.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in social science, public health, mathematics/statistics, or professional certificate in the related field.
    • 1-2 years of experience in research management, preferably in the field of gender & sexual rights, social justice, or human rights.
    • Strong background in research design, methodology, and data analysis, with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
    • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Stata, R) and qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti).
    • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex research findings to diverse audiences.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage research projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, timeline management, and quality assurance.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
    • Basic knowledge of CHS Accountability Standards and Humanitarian principles including the Code of Conduct, Protection of beneficiaries, Age and Disability Inclusion in Humanitarian activities.

    Communication / Media Publication Officer

    Position Overview:

    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing effective communication strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
    • This role involves creating compelling content, managing internal and external communications across various platforms.

    Social Media Management:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and community growth across platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
    • Create and curate compelling content, including posts, images, videos, and infographics, that aligns with organizational messaging and objectives.
    • Monitor social media channels for mentions, trends, and opportunities for engagement, and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
    • Analyze social media performance metrics, track KPIs, and prepare regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and inform future strategies.

    Content Creation and Management:

    • Produce high-quality written and visual content for digital platforms, including website articles, blog posts, newsletters, and promotional materials.
    • Collaborate with program teams to gather content, stories, and updates from the field, and adapt them for digital distribution.
    • Manage the organization's content calendar, ensuring a consistent publishing schedule and alignment with key events, campaigns, and initiatives.

    Digital Marketing and Advertising:

    • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns, including paid advertising on social media platforms, Google Ads, and other channels, to reach target audiences and drive engagement.
    • Monitor campaign performance, optimize ads based on insights, and adjust targeting and messaging as needed to maximize ROI.

    Community Engagement and Outreach:

    • Foster and nurture online communities, including supporters, donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders, through active engagement, dialogue, and relationship- building.
    • Identify and leverage influencers, advocates, and partners to amplify the organization's message and reach new audiences.
    • Develop and implement strategies to recruit and mobilize volunteers and supporters for events, campaigns, and advocacy efforts.

    Public Relations and Media Relations:

    • Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, bloggers, and influencers to generate media coverage and press mentions for the organization.
    • Draft press releases, media pitches, and other communications materials, and coordinate media outreach and follow-up.
    • Monitor media coverage and track press mentions, and prepare media reports for internal stakeholders.

    Designing Organizational Annual Report:

    • Lead the design and layout of the organization's annual report, ensuring a visually appealing and professional publication.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather content, data, and stories for inclusion in the annual report.
    • Expert in graphic design software and tools to create engaging visuals, infographics, and illustrations that enhance the report's storytelling and impact.

    Other Requirement

    • Designing of TPLPI communication strategy plan and framework
    • Manage the TPLPI website and ensure that the website is functioning and is utilized.
    • Work day-to-day with the TPLPI program team

    Qualifications:

    • At least a professional certificate or any degree in the field of communication.
    • 1-2 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or communications, preferably in the NGO sector.
    • Strong understanding of social media platforms, analytics tools, and digital marketing strategies.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and channels.
    • Creative thinking and a passion for innovation in digital communication.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Proficiency in graphic design, video editing, and other multimedia tools (desired).
    • Knowledge of SEO best practices and website management (desired).
    • Good time management and organizational skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.

    Admin / Finance Manager

    Position Overview:

    • The Amin and Finance Manager is responsible for all aspects of financial management and administration.
    • The Finance and admin manager is responsible for overal financial management, including budgeting and monitoring of expenditures; financial reporting and auditing; forecasting expenditure and maintaining and supervising accounts, banking and financial operations and all administrative work.

    Key responsibilities:

    Finance Duties:

    • Keep financial records and perform financial procedures (e.g., receipts, payment requests, petty cash).
    • Assist the organization and management of internal and external audits.
    • Manage the annual accounts closing and the external audit in collaboration with the external accountant and auditor
    • Ensure expenses are authorized and processed following agreed procedures for both TPLPI and donors.
    • Maintain the accounting reporting process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of ledgers and all supporting documentation and compliance with finance and procurement regulations.
    • Ensure agreed reporting dates are maintained according to TPLPI policies.
    • Assist in managing partners’ finance reporting ensuring compliance with TPLPI and donor regulations.
    • Attend board meetings when requested by the Executive Director
    • Liaise with and review budgets and expenditures as necessary with the management team to prepare monthly reports and other data as required.
    • Take care of bookkeeping and administration of invoices and accounting documents in adherence to accounting practices and standards.
    • Manages the bank account, payments, and treasury.
    • Oversees in cooperation with the Director's budgeting processes concerning TPLPI budget and project budgets.
    • Monitor expenditure against budgets; monitor cash flow and predict new trends.
    • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements for donors and processing and retention of documents and support per donor’s rules and regulations.
    • Produce accurate financial reports for the Director and the Board at specific deadlines
    • Ensure compliance with regulations (internal and donor-related) for procurement of goods and services and record-keeping.
    • Develop appropriate financial systems and tools.
    • Manage Staff Salary, leases, and subcontractor payments on schedule
    • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
    • Preparing timely and accurate financial reports as required by the donor or for internal monitoring processes.
    • Responsible for and plans, organizes, and manages the finance and administration process for the project.
    • Prepare weekly, monthly plans and monthly financial progress reports to the Finance Department
    • Develop and prepare proposal budgets.

    Office Administration:

    • Develop and maintain effective office systems (e.g., IT support, office maintenance, fixed assets, supplier contact), ensuring these are consistent with TPLPI operating requirements.
    • Support the efficient running of TPLPI office daily operations.
    • Ensure all procurement processes comply with TPLPI policy.
    • Support logistics for TPLPI program activities if needed or part of the budget.
    • Other administration duties as agreed.
    • Develop, track, record, and report generators fuel usage, equipment, and maintenance in close collaboration with Logistics/procurements and ensure smooth operations of equipment and tools at the project site.
    • Organize and manage office supplies.
    • Ensuring that project expenditures are adequately tracked according to the agreed project budget in close coordination with the Program Manager.
    • Facilitate timely, accurate month-end closing, cash requests, and cash reconciliations.
    • Receiving complete documents, invoices, bills, etc... ensuring the proper name, date, stamp, and supportive documents
    • Closely work with the organization's operational team.
    • Human Resources
    • Prepare monthly payrolls
    • Manages timesheets
    • Manage the internal leave registry
    • Schedule tax payments strictly on time
    • Work closely with the ED and Compliance Manager and necessary management team to conduct the requirement process and interview new employees

    QUALIFICATION

    • Any Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics, or Banking and Finance, or professional certificate in finance.

    EXPERIENCE

    You are required to have experience of:

    • Accounting/book-keeping (experience with computerized accountancy systems would be ideal).

    Administration

    • Data recording and monitoring – preferably experience with electronic data recording systems

    Admin / Office Assistant

    Position Overview:

    • We seek a proactive and organized Office Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to our organization.
    • The Office Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of office operations, supporting the efficient delivery of programs and services, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Administrative Support:

    • Welcome visitors, answer phone calls and respond to inquiries professionally and courteously.
    • Assist with organizing and scheduling meetings, appointments, and events, including booking venues, coordinating logistics, and preparing necessary materials.
    • Maintain office supplies inventory by checking stock levels, placing orders, and ensuring timely delivery.
    • Assist with mail handling, including sorting incoming mail, preparing outgoing mail, and distributing correspondence to appropriate recipients.
    • As needed, assist with data entry, filing, scanning, and other administrative tasks.

    Document Management:

    • Assist with the organization and maintenance of electronic and paper filing systems, ensuring documents are properly labeled, stored, and archived.

    • Assist with document translation and interpretation where necessary, particularly for multilingual communications or projects.

    Logistics and Facilities Management:

    • Coordinate office maintenance and repairs, including liaising with building management, contractors, and service providers.
    • Assist with the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms, event spaces, and workstations, ensuring they are clean, organized, and equipped with necessary supplies.
    • Monitor and maintain office equipment, including printers, copiers, and computers, and troubleshoot minor technical issues as needed.
    • Perform regular office cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing communal areas, restrooms, and kitchen facilities.

    Assistance to Staff and Program Teams:

    • Provide general administrative support to staff and program teams, including photocopying, scanning, and filing documents, as well as running errands and performing other tasks as assigned.
    • Assist with travel arrangements and expense reporting for staff, volunteers, and visitors, including booking flights, hotels, and transportation.

    Qualifications:

    • SSCE or equivalent qualification.
    • 0-1 year of experience in an administrative or office support role, preferably in a non-profit or NGO setting.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and customer service orientation.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic computer skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Must be a resident of Lagos State.
    • Fluency in English.
