Mathematics Educator at Domfas International Leadership Academy (Domfas ILA)

Job Duties

• Manage an organized, engaging, and professional classroom environment that promotes learning, growth, and development.
• Keep accurate records of each student's academic progress through school-wide assessments, classroom assessments, assignments, and examinations.
• Plan, prepare, and execute daily mathematics lessons that align with the school's curriculum, instructional goals, and academic standards.
• Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students.
• Provide support to individual students and groups through flexible grouping, intervention sessions, enrichment activities, workshops, compacting, and other differentiation models.
• Establish consistent classroom routines, expectations, and procedures that foster a positive learning culture.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting physical and virtual learning environment.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into mathematics instruction where appropriate.
• Handle challenging and stressful situations with professionalism, patience, understanding, flexibility, and emotional intelligence.
• Foster respectful and productive partnerships with families through regular communication, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Encourage parent involvement through volunteer opportunities, academic support initiatives, and school activities.
• Prepare, administer, and grade assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and examinations in a timely manner.
• Monitor student performance and implement intervention strategies for struggling learners while providing enrichment opportunities for gifted students.
• Work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and administrators to advance Domfas International Leadership Academy's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, in-service activities, and school events.
• Contribute to curriculum development, review, and evaluation processes to improve instructional effectiveness.
• Consult with school administrators, counselors, and specialists to address the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, experiences, and instructional strategies.
• Support school-wide academic programs, STEM initiatives, mathematics competitions, and leadership development activities.
• Continuously seek professional development opportunities through workshops, seminars, certifications, conferences, and courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School or designated supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, Engineering, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in Mathematics or a related subject area at the required grade levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid teaching certification or professional teaching qualification.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools.
• Flexibility in attitude and teaching styles consistent with Domfas' educational philosophy and approach.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or a related field.
• Five (5) or more years of successful teaching experience in Mathematics.
• Experience preparing students for external examinations and academic competitions.
• Familiarity with educational technologies such as interactive boards, learning management systems, and multimedia instructional tools.
• Experience implementing differentiated instruction and data-driven teaching practices.
• Bilingual French language skills are an added advantage.
• Experience in STEM education, robotics, coding, or project-based learning is an added advantage.
