Government & History Teacher at Majesty Schools

We are seeking a knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated Government & History Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, inspire critical thinking, and prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations while fostering an understanding of governance, civic responsibility, and historical events.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective Government and History lessons in line with the Nigerian curriculum.
• Prepare students for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and other external examinations.
• Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, instructional materials, and assessments.
• Teach topics related to political systems, constitutions, public administration, international relations, Nigerian and world history, and historical developments.
• Assess students through assignments, tests, projects, and examinations, and maintain accurate academic records.
• Encourage critical thinking, research, debate, and analytical skills.
• Provide academic support and remedial lessons where necessary.
• Maintain a disciplined, engaging, and learner-centred classroom environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development programmes.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the school management.

Requirements

• Minimum of a B.Ed., B.A. (Ed.), or Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, History, International Relations, Social Studies, or a related field with a teaching qualification.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in Government and History at the secondary school level.
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian curriculum and examination requirements (WAEC, NECO, and JAMB).
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire students and make historical and political concepts relevant and engaging.
• Basic computer literacy is an added advantage.
