ABOUT HSDF
The Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF) is a not-for-profit foundation incorporated in 2013 with a mission to improve the quality of decision-making and execution in the health sector through a focus on results at scale, providing analytical support, driving innovation, and substantive engagement with key stakeholders. HSDF is a platform for the implementation of effective ideas and innovative solutions and strives to address complex health systems and developmental challenges through a focus on evidence, rigor and continuous improvement whether in line with or diverging from the status quo.

HSDF works with the Federal and State Governments to improve the effectiveness of health service delivery to strengthen the performance of health systems and ensure a focus on results and outcomes.

JOB PURPOSE
The Interns will be exposed to different roles and workstreams within the organization with several learning opportunities for career growth. They will support organization and program activities and deliverables.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Executes tasks and end-to-end processes in an accurate, structured, well-formatted output and effectively communicates content in set timelines.
• Provides support for the attainment of program/project goals and objectives. Liaises with team members to ensure quality implementation.
• Supports the team in managing reporting cycles and assists in the process of quantifying organization and program outputs and evaluating progress towards program goals.
• Prepares first drafts of reports and presents with minimal errors.
• Conducts desk reviews and executes analytical scenarios, draws insights and transforms raw data into useful information with sound assumptions.
• Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
   

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree. A Master’s degree is a strong advantage.
• Relevant fields of study are Public Health, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, or other closely related fields.
• Smart, hardworking, self-driven individuals who are willing to build a career within the public health and social landscape are required.
• The ability to learn new domains and expand current horizons by taking on more complex tasks and responsibilities.
• Applies analytical thinking and basic techniques to work assigned, using clearly defined processes and guidelines.
• Successfully plans and manages own time and adheres to work plans and timelines.
• Is flexible and innovative in approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Collaborative work style, strong work ethic, and good stakeholder management skills.
• Possesses the ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze, interpret and integrate data information from varied sources into clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Must be able to take initiative where appropriate, proffer solutions to bottlenecks and challenges
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
