    Head, Performance and People Investment

    Role Purpose

    • The Head of Performance and People Investment is responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive employee performance and quantify the return on investment (ROI) from Ikeja Electric’s people initiatives.
    • This role ensures that performance management aligns with organizational objectives, and that investments in talent translate into measurable outcomes and financial insights for Board-level visibility.
    • Leading a team that includes the People Performance Manager and People Investment Manager, this role plays a strategic part in supporting Ikeja Electric’s HR transformation agenda by providing a comprehensive understanding of the impact of people investments across the employee lifecycle.

    Role Accountabilities
    Strategic Performance Management:

    • Develop and lead performance management initiatives that align employee goals with Ikeja Electric’s business objectives, fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Oversee the People Performance Manager in setting performance standards, managing appraisals, and supporting continuous feedback processes.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure performance initiatives support Ikeja Electric’s strategic goals, identifying areas for skill development and high-potential talent growth.

    People Investment and ROI Analysis:

    • Establish and manage frameworks for assessing the financial impact of people investments, turning HR initiatives into measurable ROI for Board-level reporting.
    • Work with the People Investment Manager to track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of investments across hiring, development, welfare, retention, and engagement.
    • Develop data-driven insights on workforce expenditures, advising on strategies to optimize people investments for maximum business impact.

    Leadership and Team Development:

    • Lead the Performance and People Investment team, providing strategic direction and support to the People Performance Manager and People Investment Manager.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and alignment within the team, ensuring each role contributes to Ikeja Electric’s HR transformation objectives.
    • Identify professional development needs within the team, supporting skill-building that enhances team capabilities and organizational impact.

    Board-Level Reporting and Insights:

    • Prepare and present regular reports for the CHRAO enroute to the Board on the ROI of people investments, providing clear financial insights and recommendations.
    • Collaborate with the HR Data and Intelligence Analyst to integrate HR analytics into financial reporting, ensuring data-driven decisions are central to people strategies.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to senior management on optimizing people investments based on data and industry trends.

    Data-Driven Strategy and Continuous Improvement:

    • Partner with the HR Data and Intelligence Analyst to monitor key performance metrics, using insights to refine people investment strategies and performance initiatives.
    • Use data to drive continuous improvements in performance management processes, ensuring that performance goals evolve with business needs.
    • Stay informed on best practices in performance management and people investment, implementing innovations that support Ikeja Electric’s growth.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Master's degree in HR Management, Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or related field (preferred)
    • Professional certification: CIPM (Chartered level preferred), CIPD, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent senior HR certification. Additional certifications in Compensation & Benefits, Total Rewards, Performance management, HR Analytics are an advantage.
    • 10-12 years progressive HR experience with significant exposure to Compensation & Benefits, performance management, and reward strategy in large organizations.
    • At least 3-5 years in leadership positions managing Reward, Payroll, or Performance Management teams.
    • Proven track record in designing and implementing competitive compensation structures, salary benchmarking, and total reward and recognition frameworks.
    • Demonstrated experience managing organization-wide performance management systems, including performance goal setting, performance reviews, and performance improvement processes.
    • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll operations, including statutory compliance, tax administration, and payroll management
    • Experience in utilities, manufacturing, telecommunications, oil & gas, or other large-scale operational environments (preferred)
