    Growth Lead (Sales, Marketing & Communication)

    Role Summary

    We are seeking a strategic, results-oriented Growth Lead to drive revenue generation, strategic partnerships, brand positioning, and external engagement. This is a growth-focused leadership role responsible for monetizing W2A’s platforms (events, consulting, trade facilitation, research, and investor services), while overseeing the Communications & Branding team to ensure all messaging aligns with business goals.

    You must be both a closer and a builder—capable of crafting compelling strategies and executing them with urgency.

    Key Responsibilities

    SALES STRATEGY, REVENUE GENERATION & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (CORE PRIORITY)

    • Own the company’s revenue strategy and lead aggressive sales campaigns for sponsorships, delegate sales, consulting projects, and trade facilitation.
    • Directly engage and close deals with foreign investors, sponsors, DFIs, government clients, and consulting partners.
    • Monetize existing W2A platforms (e.g., Deal Rooms, Investment Forums, W2A Trade, and W2A Capital).
    • Use sales tools like Apollo, LinkedIn Navigator, and Zoho CRM to track leads, pipeline stages, and performance analytics.
    • Develop clear sales KPIs, targets, and dashboards across the Growth department.
    • Ensure all communications, branding, and outreach efforts align with sales and income goals.

    MARKETING, BRANDING & COMMUNICATIONS FOR SALES ENABLEMENT

    • Oversee all W2A communication outputs—visual, digital, editorial, and media relations.
    • Lead the execution of demand-generation campaigns with direct sales intent and measurable ROI.
    • Ensure branding and messaging efforts support strategic positioning and lead conversion.
    • Supervise social media, PR, newsletter outreach, and advertising in alignment with business objectives.

    STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS & GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

    • Build and manage high-impact relationships with governments, trade ministries, embassies, export councils, DFIs, and corporates.
    • Represent W2A at trade missions, diplomatic engagements, and stakeholder roundtable.
    • Convert institutional and foreign relationships into strategic deals, partnerships, or co-hosted initiatives.

    TEAM LEADERSHIP & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

    • Manage the Growth team (communications, sales, Branding/Graphics Designer).
    • Mentor staff and build a scalable commercial department structure based on results.
    • Set departmental OKRs and KPIs and hold team members accountable for output and revenue goals.

    CROSS-DEPARTMENTAL ALIGNMENT & ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGY

    • Work with departments (Finance, Strategy, Programs, W2A Capital, W2A Trade) to ensure aligned goals and operations.
    • Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on market trends, growth strategy, and monetization models.
    • Identify opportunities for new business lines or revenue pilots in line with W2A’s long-term expansion.

    Market Research & Insights:

    • Conduct thorough market research to stay ahead of industry trends, identify new opportunities, and understand competitor strategies. 
    • Provide strategic recommendations to senior management to improve marketing continuously and sales performance.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor\'s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
    • 8–12 years in sales leadership, business development, or marketing within consulting, investment, or trade facilitation sectors.
    • Strong track record of closing high-value deals and managing pipelines.
    • Familiarity with investment flows, B2B sales, and client onboarding processes.
    • Proficient in digital marketing tools, CRM systems (Zoho), and outreach tools (Apollo, LinkedIn).

    Trade Analyst

    Job Overview:

    • Travel: Frequent travel required across Nigeria and internationally
    • Availability: Full-time, with flexibility to work overtime and extended hours as needed

    Position Overview:

    The Trade Analyst will play a critical role in supporting W2A’s trade facilitation projects, with a focus on export operations, supplier sourcing, and coordination with laborers, field agents, warehouse teams, and logistics. The Analyst will also engage in market research, investor outreach, and building trade networks across our priority agricultural value chains—cocoa, maize, cassava, soybean, and rice.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Supplier and Value Chain Development

    1. Identify, assess, and build relationships with reliable suppliers in cocoa, maize, cassava, soybean, and rice value chains across Nigeria and West Africa.
    2. Conduct supplier vetting, field visits, and facility inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and trade-readiness.
    3. Work closely with field agents and cooperatives to secure and mobilize produce for export.

    Support for Trade Projects

    1. Actively support W2A’s trade facilitation projects, including:
      1. Coordinating the sourcing and aggregation of agricultural commodities.
      2. Working with laborers, field agents, warehouse staff, and logistics providers to ensure smooth project execution.
      3. Overseeing export documentation, packaging standards, and quality control processes.
      4. Supporting project planning, timelines, and execution for both domestic and international trade activities.

    Market Research and Investment Engagement

    1. Conduct in-depth market research to identify growth opportunities across agriculture, energy, maritime, and solid minerals.
    2. Map emerging companies and buyers with trade and investment potential.
    3. Maintain a database of verified suppliers, buyers, and trade partners.

    Investor and Partner Outreach

    1. Identify key networks, online forums, and platforms for outreach, targeting trade-focused and investment-ready groups.
    2. Collaborate with communications and digital teams to develop and implement promotional strategies (e.g., newsletters, webinars, social media).
    3. Develop and implement a structured follow-up plan with potential investors, ensuring timely communication and relationship building.

    Stakeholder Management

    1. Build strong relationships with government agencies, industry associations, and institutional partners.
    2. Represent W2A at trade fairs, investor meetings, business missions, and stakeholder events.

    Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Economics, International Trade, or a related field.
    2. 2–3 years of experience in trade facilitation, agribusiness, or supply chain management.
    3. Strong understanding of agricultural export processes and West African commodity markets.
    4. Hands-on experience working with suppliers, laborers, and field operations.
    5. Excellent communication, analytical, and project coordination skills.
    6. Willingness to travel frequently and work extended hours as needed.
    7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tools; experience with Zoho tools is an advantage.
