The Role
The Business Development Manager is the commercial face of Client. You own the full pipeline from first contact to signed host agreement, and you manage those relationships through installation and beyond. Your Phase 1 target is ambitious: 12 signed host sites by December 2026 - hotels, filling stations, malls, and corporate campuses across Abuja. This is a role for a self-starter who thrives on building relationships, telling a compelling story, and seeing deals cross the line. You drive both long-term growth and short-term results by building strategic partnerships, creating new business opportunities, and closing deals that generate immediate revenue.
The Role
The Business Development Officer is the commercial face of the client. You own the full pipeline from first contact to signed host agreement, and you manage those relationships through installation and beyond.
Your Phase 1 target is ambitious: 12 signed host sites by December 2026 - hotels, filling stations, malls, and corporate campuses across Abuja. This is a role for a self-starter who thrives on building relationships, telling a compelling story, and seeing deals cross the line.
You drive both long-term growth and short-term results by building strategic partnerships, creating new business opportunities, and closing deals that generate immediate revenue.
What You'll Do
- Own the full client partner pipeline - from initial outreach through to signed Host Partnership Agreement.
- Track all active proposals using a structured CRM.
- Follow up on all proposals within 5 business days and maintain regular contact with every prospect.
- Coordinate the Host Partnership Agreement signature process, prepare documents, arrange signatories, and file copies.
- Brief the Technical Lead on every newly signed site within 48 hours to initiate the site survey.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for host partners during the installation phase and provide weekly progress updates.
- Research and identify new host partner prospects in Abuja, Lagos, and new regions.
- Manage the client's LinkedIn and social media presence, station launches, partnerships, and regulatory milestones.
- Draft press releases for station go-live announcements for CEO approval before publication.
What You Bring
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, commercial partnerships, or account management.
- Comfortable presenting to senior hotel, mall, and corporate management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including proposals, follow-ups, and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and AI productivity tools (Canvas, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.).
- Knowledge of Abuja's commercial and hospitality landscape is a strong advantage.
How We'll Measure Success
- 3 signed host agreements within 90 days of joining.
- 12 signed host agreements by the end of Phase 1 (December 2026).
- All proposals are followed up on within 5 business days.
- Pipeline tracker is updated weekly and reviewed with the CEO every Monday.
- Zero prospects lost due to lack of follow-up.
