    QUALIFICATIONS   

    • BA/ BSc in Management; procurement, logistics, supply chain management or related field 
    • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS UK) or equivalent Experience

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 

    • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working in procurement, preferably in an NGO/and/or development program, with in depth experience in managing procurement processes 
    • Strong knowledge and experience of implementing procurement processes, driving contract compliance and embedding buying best practice 
    • Excellent supplier management skills and a strong ability to hold suppliers accountable to deliver on their responsibilities 
    • Knowledge of NGO/Donor policies and their compliance requirements in respect of Procurement and wider supply chain activity 
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching. 
    • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks with competing priorities and simultaneously stick to deadlines, whilst maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers 
    • Excellent reporting skills, particularly the ability to quickly develop clear and concise delivery tracking, scheduling or pricing, donor, monthly KPI reports 
    • Willingness to undertake field travel as required and work in difficult environments according to travel environments. 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills; fluency in spoken and written English; 
    • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles 
    • Desirable: Procurement system experience

    Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS Officer)

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

    Support MHPSS activities in CP programming

    Provide support, in the MHPSS Programming which includes:

    • Ensuring assistance is provided to children affected by the conflict in a  dignified, respectful, equitable, and inclusive manner that supports their resilience
    • Assisting children in acute distress and alleviating their stress, for instance ensuring that all staff/partners are trained on PFA and feel confident to use it
    • The mainstreaming of inter-agency guidelines (e.g. IASC MHPSS guidelines) and standards (e.g. CPMS) across the different sectors of program activities delivered by SC and its partners
    • The use of structured and manualized MHPSS techniques
    • The participation of parents and caregivers in MHPSS activities 
    • Support structured MHPSS activities for groups of boys and girls of different age groups, with particular attention to survivors of SGBV, unaccompanied children, and other children who present with signs of poor mental health and distress
    • Identify MHPSS service providers and agree on referral pathways for children with severe mental disorders

    Proposed Outputs: 

    • Individual counseling sessions with children and beneficiaries where required to discuss complex cases.  
    • Be available on call/skype if any urgent matters arise that a staff would like to share regarding their casework or his/her personal well being
    • Bi-monthly progress reports to the MHPSS Coordinator to highlight needs and gaps.
    • Development of peer/reflective practices with teams
    • Support current MHPSS practices, reflecting on a cross-sectoral approach.   
    • Structured MHPSS activities for boys and girls, organized in age-appropriate groups with a clear methodology or curriculum to promote mental well-being. Such activities must align with donor commitments in already-funded projects.

    QUALIFICATIONS  AND EXPERIENCE

    Essential

    • Minimum of BSc in Psychology, Psychiatric Nurse, and Medical social work.
    • Minimum 2 years post NYSC cognate experience in a clinical setting, NGO, and INGO
    • Experienced in Psychological First Aid, and other psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities
    • Experience working in Child Protection programs, including those with MHPSS component
    • Fluent in English and Hausa is desirable
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information
    • Ability to work independently and proactively.

    Desirable

    • Experience in humanitarian emergencies and/or a refugee/displacement-setting

    WASH Officer

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

    Objective 1: Take the lead on the Rehabilitation/Construction of Water and Sanitation Facilities at Communities of implementation

    • Work with the Logistic Coordinator, Finance, and Grants Compliance Team to identify and contract vendors to ensure the planned activities are in accordance with the specified designs and standard.
    • Prepare weekly plans and schedule of work for all construction/rehabilitation sites, while ensuring compliance in meeting and reaching deadlines and targets.
    • Work with and support the vendors to ensure all materials and equipment are in stock and any necessary orders are placed for all actions to be carried.
    • Provide interpretation to designs of work and work according to specifications.
    • Establish a site book at each location and make a report on progress registered in the site book while ensuring signing in with remarks.
    • Must adhere strictly to standards and ensure the quality of materials used by the contractors falls within the utmost standard.
    • Carry out field visits to assess sites at the respective facilities to ensure quality of work is up to standard

    Objective 2: Take the lead on the Integration of Hygiene Promotion into other SCI programming:

    • Liaise with RUWASSA and the LGA WASH departments on WASH programming and ensure that all activities are done with their active participation and support
    • Provide support on WASH to other SCI programmes and initiatives when required
    • Ensure that WASH is integrated into all training carried out on the project
    • Carry out advocacy visits to key stakeholders at both state, LGA and community levels
    • Support periodic evaluation studies to evaluate the impact of the WASH component
    • Contribute technical expertise to donor proposals for any future project
    • Carry out regular supportive supervision visits on hygiene promotion to SC integrated projects
    • Build the capacity of partners and SCI staffs on hygiene promotion
    • Ensure that community mobilisation approaches on the project fully integrate hygiene promotion concepts
    • Engage community leaders and other key stakeholders at LGA level on hygiene promotion

    Objective 3: Monitoring and evaluation of WASH activities

    • Prepare a monthly plan of field activities and share with relevant staff
    • Develop and implement tools for monitoring of WASH activities (Hygiene promotion) in collaboration with the M&E team
    • Timely collection and analysis of data for the monitoring of the activities
    •  Identify the problems in the implementation process and propose solutions
    •  Evaluate regularly the impact of the activities and propose changes for improvement
    •  Prepare activities’ weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual reports and other ad hoc reports according to agreed timelines and as required

    Administrative & General Skills

    • First Degree in Engineering, Geology, Geography or other WASH-related fields from a recognized/accredited Tertiary Institution in Nigeria
    • An advanced degree will be an added advantage
    • At least 3 years post NYSC relevant experience
    • Previous experience with other local and international NGOs
    • Training and experience on borehole and VIP latrine construction/rehabilitation
    • Community mobilization and advocacy experience
    • Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
    • Fluency in English and  Hausa spoken and written
    • Ability to work in partnership with government and other NGO staff
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work within a team setting
    • Independence, adaptability and flexibility with good workload management, multitasking and ability to meet tight deadlines
    • Excellent communication skills
