Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Human Resources Assistant who will be responsible to performs a variety of administrative tasks related to the HR administrative functions ensuring effective and efficient execution of HR processes and activities.
Reporting to: Human Resources Officer
Proposed start date: April 2023
Duration: 3 months
Work location: Abuja, FCT
Starting Basic Salary: 216,006 NGN per month (excluding other benefits)
Key responsibilities:
- Create employee personnel files for all new joiners on a monthly basis;
- Request, compile and update employee personnel files with all relevant new joiners documentation – employee personnel data form, HR policy acknowledgement form, Code of Conduct acknowledge form etc - in liaison with relevant base HR teams;
- Update all current employee personnel files with newly completed revised HR documents as required;
- Maintain an electronic and hard copy filing system for personnel files;
- Create and maintain an organized filing system for all leavers in the mission, ensuring files for all leavers in a month are separated and filed accordingly;
- Act as the liaison between national staff in Abuja and the health insurance provider to resolve any issues in accessing coverage and ensure proper tracking of all issues is maintained;
- Provide support to staff in Abuja to process refunds with the health insurance provider where necessary;
- Act as the custodian of the mission’s staff ID card printer and print new cards for all national and international staff in the mission;
- Track all national and international staff ID card expiry dates in order to manage the printing of renewal ID cards;
- Act as the focal point for delivering HR documents to the field offices and receiving same from the field offices;
- Support the Human Resources Officer to track leaves;
- Collect and file all the approved leave request forms;
- Support to plan and organize HR-related events (general staff meetings; parties, etc.) and take minutes where required;
- Request and compile the completed 10 Minutes Conversation and Performance Appraisal forms for all national staff in the Abuja office on a monthly basis, ensuring the relevant tracker is accurately updated.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, Law or any related Social Science discipline; Bachelor degree in any of these disciplines is a plus;
- 2 years’ work experience with at least 1 year in a related role;
- Understanding of national labor law and employment norms and practices;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Approachable, diplomatic, able to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment;
- Computer literate including all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook);
- Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently;
- Able to maintain confidentiality;
- Capacity for analysis, synthesis and reporting of large amounts of information;
- Previous experience working for INGOs an asset, particularly health related INGOs;
- Fluency in one or more National/regional languages an asset.

You will responsible for leading data gathering, collation and quality control activities to ensure the quality and accountability of the programs implemented by ACF in Northern Nigeria.

Key responsibilities:
- National focal person for management of Nutrition Information System (NIS) as well as supporting the remote management strategy of AAH Nigeria;
- Manage AAH database to effectively control and archive program data;
- Management of budgets related to IS in the projects and plan the activities and procurement requests;
- Prepare, coach and execute the SOPs for data protection adhering to the policies of NPDR and GDPR;
- Create, organize and archive maps using GIS software and maintenance of reference datasets for ACTION AGAINST HUNGER areas of operations;
- Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including field observation, satellite imagery, and existing maps;
- Manage response and prioritization of requests for map products and services;
- Liaise closely with MEAL HoD and DHoDs to understand and support the welfare of MEAL staff at all regions to ensure good working conditions and performance enhancement;
- Ensure proper training for MIS platforms users (RedRose, Kobo, Power BI, etc.) for AAH staff;
- Support MIS officers in the bases for external stakeholders trainings (content development);
- Evaluation of technical skills of MIS officers and assistants also supporting mentorship strategy of MEAL department.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Geography (GIS) or a related subject, with previous experience working in humanitarian projects;
- A Minimum of 5 years of Management Information System related work experience;
- Experience in database management and mapping;
- Experience with mobile data collection methodologies, software and devices;
- Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure;
- Commitment to and understanding of ACTION AGAINST HUNGER aims, values and principles;
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with MIS platforms;
- Strong experience with cartography, infographics and other GIS platforms;
- Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited;
- Previous experience with ACTION AGAINST HUNGER or International NGO;
- Experience and conversant with M&E systems, preferably in INGO;
- Strong interpersonal and community norms understanding;
- Experience with participatory fieldwork methodologies;
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken skills).

The WASH Programme Manager will be responsible in leading a team of RRM Officers and will be reporting directly to the Emergency Coordinator. You will be entitled to implement ACF Nigeria mission strategy to save lives, conduct multi-sectoral surveys, identify, implement, monitor and evaluate emergency interventions within the framework of the Rapid Response Mechanism in areas with alerts.

Key responsibilities:
- Ensure contractual activities are completed on time, within budget and with acceptable quality;
- Identify and monitor risks, constraints or escalating issues relating to the management of the program, and inform the hierarchy accordingly;
- Ensure post-implementation monitoring of Action Against Hunger WASH structures;
- Plan and manage emergency responses and priorities activities according to humanitarian needs;
- Supervision of the WASH program staff, induction, follow up, evaluation, and promotion of positive team dynamics and motivation;
- Recruitment and training of WASH staff as needs arise;
- Overseeing the work of WASH program staff in order to ensure good compliance of activities within the objectives of the mission and of proposals - this includes regular visits to the field sites in order to evaluate achievements; to discuss the constraints encountered, the possible solutions and to make recommendations for current and future programs;
- Collaborate and communicate with technical and Support Head of Departments, Program Managers, CD, and any other Action Against Hunger resource people in order to ensure the coherence of activities and reports in terms of Action Against Hunger WASH strategy;
- Informing/updating the Emergency Co and CD on emergencies and outbreaks program implementation and any issues on a regular basis;
- Participation in weekly base team meetings and any other general team or strategy meetings;
- Follow up of logistics requirements for WASH programs in liaison with the Head of Base;
- Participation in the overall mission and program strategy, narrative and financial project proposals and reporting, in collaboration with Log/Admin/CD and other program coordinators as necessary;
- Monthly Action Against Hunger WASH report to be sent to Emergency Co (line manager) and copied to DCD, Tech HOD and France Technical Advisor – which includes an overview of the WASH situation, external coordination update, achievements for the past month and objectives for the following month.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering (Civil, Water, Construction or Hydrology), Public Health or Social Sciences;
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a WASH Emergency management/supervisory capacity;
- Strong computer literacy, organizational and planning skills, report writing, budget oversight;
- Commitment to upholding Action Against Hunger’s values, excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Experience in the INGO/NGO and humanitarian context;
- Experience managing a team of staff;
- Experience in Rapid Response Mechanism;
- Willingness and ability to travel to the field for program monitoring and supportive visits.
