Technical Implementation Engineer at Collecta Digital Services Limited

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Implementation Engineer to own the end-to-end deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of our solutions. You will manage Virtual Private Servers (VPS), deploy and maintain both frontend and backend applications, oversee infrastructure reliability, and ensure robust security practices across environments.

Key Responsibilities

• VPS & Server Management Provision, configure, monitor, and maintain VPS instances (e.g., DigitalOcean, Linode, AWS EC2, Hetzner, or similar). Handle OS-level administration (Linux preferred), resource scaling, backups, and performance tuning.
• Full-Stack Deployment Deploy, configure, and maintain frontend applications (React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, or similar) and backend services (Node.js, Python/Django/Flask/FastAPI, Go, PHP, Java, or similar). Manage CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration where applicable.
• Infrastructure Management Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent). Set up load balancing, reverse proxies (Nginx/Apache), DNS, SSL/TLS certificates, monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Uptime Robot, etc.), logging, and alerting systems.
• Security Implement and enforce security best practices: firewall rules, SSH hardening, vulnerability scanning, access control (IAM, key management), regular patching, secrets management, and compliance with relevant security standards. Conduct security reviews of deployments and respond to incidents.
• Solution Implementation & Support Translate technical requirements into working production systems. Collaborate with development, product, and client teams to implement, test, and hand over solutions. Troubleshoot production issues and provide post-deployment support.
• Documentation & Process Maintain clear runbooks, architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and knowledge base articles. Contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure and deployment processes.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience managing Linux-based VPS/servers in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience deploying and operating both frontend and backend applications.
• Solid understanding of networking, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, reverse proxies, and load balancing.
• Experience with Docker and basic container orchestration.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD practices.
• Strong security mindset with practical experience in server hardening, access control, and basic vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) in addition to traditional VPS providers.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.
• Scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB) in production, including backups and basic performance tuning.
• Familiarity with web application security (OWASP Top 10) and compliance frameworks.
• Previous experience in a client-facing or implementation-focused role.
