    Cook

    Job Description

    • Promptly resumes for the shift and registers appropriately in the Staff register.
    • Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service.
    • Washes, cuts and prepares food designated for cooking.
    • Maintains a prepared and sanitary work area always.
    • Keeps the work area clean and tidy all through the shift.
    • Constantly makes use of safe and hygienic food handling practices.
    • Arranges kitchen utensils and equipment in an attractive and functional displays.
    •  Ensures food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils are cleaned and ready for use.
    • Responsible for preparation of a variety of food items (meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable and cold food items).
    • Carries out food preparation using the tools in accordance with manufacturer\\\'s instructions.
    • Ability to cook in bulk and make use of commercial kitchen equipment.
    • Collects and remembers all orders from waiters and ensure all the multiple orders are prepared to shop standard.
    • Cooks the exact number of items for each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously.
    • Cooks and packages batches of food to order or keep warm until sold.
    • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
    • Serves orders to waiters as at when due.
    • Serves menu items in compliance with established standards.
    • Ensuring that leftover food is disposed of properly.
    • Receives delivery of food items from the support centre and ensures that it corresponds to what is on the waybill.
    • Notifies Chef in advance of shortage in supply.
    • Measures ingredients for specific food items being prepared.
    • Operates large volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers or griddles.
    • Co-ordinates with the Waiters, Runners, kitchen Assistants, to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
    • Assist with other areas of the restaurant as directed by the Chef, Supervisors, Shop Manager, General Manager or Managing Director.
    • Complies with the company set out Policy and Procedures

    Requirement

    • HND or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Food and Nutrition or related field
    • 2-5  years of experience
    • Attention to Detail.
    • Familiarity with several dishes, wraps, sandwiches, grills etc
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Good Leadership skill

    Runner

    Job Duties

    • Dust all fixtures, fittings and any other surfaces within reach.
    • Sweep and wash/mop floor 
    • Dust picture frames and clean the picture glass.
    • Dust and polish all chairs, tables and all drinking shelves.
    • Wipe and polish the front of the bar.
    • Responsible for carrying out task quickly and competently.
    • Follow strict hygiene, health and safety rules.
    • Clearing dirty plate and silverware, responding to other customer needs.
    • Cleaning tables and maintaining cleanliness in all customer areas.
    • Be friendly, sociable and welcoming to customers and helpful to customers.
    • Ensure to have a clean and presentable appearance during working hours.
    • Assist with other areas of the restaurant as directed by the supervisors, shop manager (including but not limited to assisting with offloading from suppliers, assisting in purchasing items from nearby stores/ markets.
    • Maintain excellent time keeping and attendance.
    • Must be able to work unsupervised in a busy environment, prioritizing duties with the most important duty carried out first
    • Be quick and efficient in the discharge of duties to serve as many customers as possible.
    • Always adhere to all company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
    • Diligently carry out instructions given by the supervisors, shop manager and other superiors.
    • Communicate well with people of all levels.
    • Report any issue of concern to Shop Managers.
    • Always be a team player and use initiative where and when necessary.

    Waitress/Waiter

    Key Responsibilities

    Customer Service

    • Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables or lounge area.
    • Present menus and provide detailed information when requested.
    • Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely service.
    • Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
    • Handle guest complaints courteously and refer unresolved issues to the supervisor.

    Operations & Service Delivery

    • Serve food and drinks according to company standards and presentation guidelines.
    • Ensure tables, chairs, and the lounge area are clean, neat, and properly set up at all times.
    • Process payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate transaction records.
    • Support lounge operations during peak hours, events, and special functions.
    • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.

    Cleanliness & Hygiene

    • Follow hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards at all times.
    • Ensure proper use of serving trays, utensils, and uniforms.
    • Clear tables promptly after guests leave and prepare for the next service.

    Teamwork & Communication

    • Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and management.
    • Participate in daily briefings and training sessions.
    • Communicate guest preferences, feedback, or special requests to relevant departments.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum of SSCE / OND qualification (Hospitality or related field is an advantage).
    • At least 1–2 years’ experience in a lounge, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Professional appearance, good personal hygiene, and friendly disposition.
    • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and handle late or weekend shifts.
    • Basic knowledge of POS systems and order management is an advantage.
