The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at New Dawn Microfinance Bank Ltd

Job Summary: 

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s daily operations, ensuring the efficient implementation of our business strategies, develop and drive sales and the growth of our Micro-Insurance offerings. The COO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and collaborate closely with the executive team to achieve the company’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

•   Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's vision and goals.
•  Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to define and execute the company’s strategic plan.

Operational Management:

•   Oversee the company’s daily operations, develop and manage the sales, and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all areas
•   Establish performance metrics and continuously monitor operational outcomes to improve productivity.

Team Development:

•   Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team to achieve operational excellence.
•   Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability among staff.

Product Development:

•   Collaborate with the product development team to design and implement innovative MicroInsurance products that meet customer needs.
•   Analyze market trends and customer feedback to enhance product offerings.

Risk Management:

•   Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
•   Develop policies and procedures to safeguard the company’s assets and reputation.

Financial Oversight:

•   Work with the finance team to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to ensure sustainable growth.
•   Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures.

Stakeholder Engagement:

•   Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and regulators.
•   Represent the company at industry events and conferences to promote the Micro-Insurance mission.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• Proven experience in a senior operational role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Establish strong corporate sales relationships, set sales target and archive monthly targets
• Strong understanding of Micro-Insurance products and market dynamics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute operational strategies that drive growth.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
