    Sous Chef

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a deep understanding of food preparation, kitchen safety, and high-volume cooking. You will play a key role in supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high culinary standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising staff.
    • Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth service.
    • Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to maintain consistency.
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed.
    • Enforce food hygiene and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
    • Conduct regular checks on equipment and kitchen facilities to ensure functionality and safety.
    • Participate in menu planning, cost control, and recipe development.
    • Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to promote growth and performance.
    • Ensure that food is prepared on time and in accordance with company standards.
    • Support in managing kitchen schedules and delegating tasks efficiently.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook in a professional kitchen.
    • Culinary degree or certification from a recognized institution is an added advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • In-depth understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
    • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
