    Legal Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Draft, review, and negotiate EPCC and other commercial agreements (JV, licensing, financing, offtake, procurement, and services).
    • Provide legal advisory on deal structuring and regulatory compliance.
    • Support contract execution, governance, and risk management frameworks.
    • Lead negotiations with partners, contractors, vendors, customers, and regulators.
    • Manage claims and support mediation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes.
    • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory authorities.
    • Translate complex legal issues into clear, practical business guidance for executives.

    Qualifications

    • LL.B. from a reputable Nigerian or international university.
    • Qualified to practice law (Nigeria, UK, USA, or equivalent jurisdiction).
    • Postgraduate qualification in Oil & Gas, Commercial Law, or Contract Law is an added advantage.
    • Exposure to international law firms and UK/US commercial law is desirable.

    Key Requirements:

    • 7–10 years’ experience as a Commercial / Contracts & Procurement Lawyer, preferably on large-scale EPCC projects ($100M+).
    • Strong experience with international contracts, including importation of capital goods/materials.
    • Industry exposure: Oil & Gas (Downstream), Petrochemicals, Fertilisers, or LNG projects.
    • Solid expertise in commercial contracts, FIDIC-based contracts, risk management, regulatory compliance, and contract governance.
    • Proven ability in drafting, negotiation, dispute avoidance, and stakeholder communication.
    • Experience handling claims, change orders, liquidated damages, warranties, guarantees, financing, and dispute resolution.
    • Strong business-oriented mindset with focus on risk mitigation and litigation avoidance.
