Head – Oil & Energy (Business Origination, Bidding & Strategic Partnerships) at Tolaram Group

Role Summary

• The Head – Oil & Energy (O&E) will lead Mutual Equity Insurance Broking Limited’s strategic expansion into the Oil & Energy reinsurance sector in partnership with K.M. Dastur Group (KMD) — a global Lloyd’s-registered specialist broker.
• The role combines business origination, technical reinsurance expertise, and strategic leadership to drive growth, build market visibility, and manage high-level relationships across Nigeria’s oil and gas ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to secure Oil & Energy insurance and reinsurance mandates.
• Leverage industry and regulatory relationships to expand business visibility across Nigeria and West Africa.
• Lead bidding and tender processes, ensuring accurate and compliant technical and financial submissions.
• Coordinate with KMD’s global teams for placement strategy, pricing, and reinsurance structuring.
• Build and maintain senior relationships with key industry stakeholders (NNPC, NUPRC, IOCs, NOCs, etc.).
• Establish and lead an Oil & Energy business unit, mentoring staff and ensuring compliance with NAICOM, NCRIB, and Lloyd’s standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Petroleum, Engineering, or Business Administration; ACII/ACIIN or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years in insurance/reinsurance, including at least 7 years managing Oil & Energy portfolios.
• Proven expertise in bid management, insurance placement, reinsurance structuring, and client engagement.
• Strong relationships within Nigeria’s oil & gas and insurance sectors.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Salary
N50,000,000 annual gross.
