The Head Legal & Compliance is accountable for Hyde’s legal function with responsibilities including providing expert legal advice to executives, board and staff on business and corporate activities; supervising all business and legal affairs and projects; and negotiating and managing all external counsel activities.
The jobholder sets internal corporate governance policies, manages the impact of external factors such as contractual matters, litigation, taxation policies, and regulatory matters amongst others.
Qualifications
A university degree (minimum of a second class lower) LL.B with admittance into the Nigerian Bar.
A post-graduate degree in Law is preferred
Specialization in oil & gas transactions, corporate and commercial law
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law with experience in regulatory compliance, corporate governance and managing disputes
Experience with the Nigeria Oil and Gas industry
Experience in providing upstream transaction advisory is of additional advantage.
