    Fleet Manager (Logistics)

    Job Summary

    • The Fleet Manager will oversee the daily operations of the company’s logistics fleet, ensuring optimal utilization, cost-efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
    • The role involves managing drivers, scheduling, vehicle maintenance, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the movement of vehicles, goods, and drivers.
    • Supervise, train, and evaluate fleet staff, including drivers and support team.
    • Develop and implement fleet policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and meet all regulatory requirements.
    • Track fuel usage, mileage, and expenses to optimize costs.
    • Manage fleet documentation including licenses, insurance, and permits.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Monitor and report on fleet performance using KPIs.
    • Handle incident reports, accidents, and insurance claims.
    • Liaise with clients, vendors, and management to ensure smooth logistics operations.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fleet/logistics management.
    • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transport regulations, and safety standards.
    • Proficiency in fleet management software and MS Office Suite.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Preferred Attributes:

    • Experience in the logistics, oil & gas, or FMCG industry.
    • Good understanding of route planning and cost control.
    • Proven track record of improving fleet efficiency and reducing operational costs.
