Job Summary
The Vice President of Finance is responsible for leading the organization’s financial strategy, planning, and operations. This role provides strategic financial leadership, ensures strong financial governance, and drives sustainable growth through sound financial management. The VP Finance will oversee budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and capital planning while supporting executive leadership with data-driven insights and financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board.
- Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and improved financial performance.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Monitor company financial performance against budgets and strategic plans.
- Provide detailed financial insights, dashboards, and reports to leadership for decision-making.
- Evaluate investments, acquisitions, and major financial initiatives.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Maintain strong financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Develop and maintain internal control frameworks and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee corporate financial compliance and regulatory filings where applicable.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocation strategies.
- Optimize working capital and financial efficiency across the organization.
- Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing arrangements.
Leadership & Team Management
- Build, mentor, and lead the finance and accounting team.
- Establish performance metrics and drive high standards of financial discipline.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Legal, HR, and other relevant departments.
Operational Finance
- Support operational teams with financial analysis and cost management strategies.
- Implement financial systems, automation, and reporting tools to improve efficiency.
- Drive financial process improvements and scalability for growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or Master’s preferred).
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong experience in financial planning, corporate finance, and financial reporting.
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
- Female preferred.
