Operations Manager at Assist to Hire Limited

Work Type:  Contract position (with potential for full-time conversion based on performance) 

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a commercially driven Operations Manager to lead and grow our logistics operations. In this role, you will be responsible for winning new business while managing our fleet of drivers and trucks to successfully deliver on those engagements.

The ideal candidate understands both sales and operational execution. You will own the entire client lifecycle, from prospecting and closing new business to ensuring seamless operations and service delivery.

This is a player-coach role for someone who can identify and secure new opportunities, then lead the operational team to ensure our fleet delivers on those commitments with efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing outsourcing clients while identifying opportunities to expand service accounts.
•  Identify and secure new outsourcing and logistics contracts through industry relationships and proactive business development.
• Manage existing clients in the portfolio and grow more accounts.
• Leverage industry networks and experience to generate new business opportunities.
• Source, recruit, and manage quality truck drivers and other operational staff as required.
• Develop and implement operational process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Visit client sites to resolve operational issues, strengthen relationships, and improve service processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Sales, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 3-5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in logistics or transportation
• Strong sales, communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
