    Expatriate Principal / Head of School

    Overview

    • An international co-educational and Christian School located in the heart of Lagos State, Nigeria, operating a blend of the British and Nigerian curricula, is seeking to strengthen its workforce by recruiting a qualified, highly experienced, self-motivated and result-oriented Expatriate Principal/Head of School (preferably from the United Kingdom or other commonwealth countries).

    Responsibilities

    • The effective general management of the school, for ensuring the provision of academic leadership and strategic vision, and for the quality of the student experience.
    • Lead a team of dedicated academic and non-academic staff, to provide visionary leadership and oversight, and in producing disciplined and self-reliant citizens equipped for future leadership in all spheres of life.
    • Implement the school’s development plan and providing strategic leadership and direction which will motivate all staff to strive for superior performance in order to secure the best possible outcome for the pupils and students in all spheres.
    • Provide professional leadership in the implementation and the development of the National Curriculum Framework and the Learning Outcomes Framework.
    • Provide professional leadership in the implementation and the development of the School Development Plan.
    • Lead and manage the school in its day-to-day operations, organizing and coordinating all activities related to curriculum planning, delivery, assessment and development at school level and at national level.
    • Develop and maintain an emotionally, psychologically and physically safe, as well as orderly school environment, through a creative and cognitively stimulating climate that is conducive to learning.
    • Coordinate mentoring duties of Newly Qualified/Recruited Educators and others experiencing challenges.
    • Collaboratively create and nurture a Community of Professional Educators, leading by example through active participation

    Requirements

    • Candidate must be a University graduate with First Degree, preferably B.Ed or its equivalent, from a reputable tertiary institution.
    • Master’s degree in educational management and planning or professional qualification in education or any other related certifications will be an advantage.
    • Minimum of Ten (10) years cognate experience in an International School, and not less than Five (5) years in Management/Leadership position.
    • Knowledge of the Nigerian National Policy on Education.
    • Understanding of the relevant laws and regulations governing the provision of educational services in Nigeria.
    • In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian and British curricula.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Ability to identify, effect and monitor school improvements programs.
    • He/she must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be a Christian with basic Christian experiences.
    • Candidate must possess strong moral values and discipline.
    • Excellent diction, and experience in WAEC and IGCSE curricula.

    Soft Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate with educators, parents, and community leaders professionally and effectively.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Extremely effective administration of multifaceted operations.
    • Knowledge of best practices in education and educational administration
    • The candidate of choice must have excellent leadership and management skills which will ensure that all set targets are met.
