Overview

• To perform the duty of a Functional Consultant for Sage X3 suite of modules, in the areas of finance, manufacturing, and distribution business processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide an elevated level of consulting and implementation services at client sites. Responsible for the optimal set up and training in the products for each client and maximize consulting revenue whilst maintaining an elevated level of customer satisfaction
• To deliver project based consulting activities, through the entire project lifecycle, on ad-hoc and medium to long-term engagements
• To be responsible for problem identification, software specification and/or design, implementation, documentation, testing, client training and solution deployment adhering to Sage’s Methodology
• To interact with company and client managers on cost/schedule monitoring
• To comply with financial responsibilities which include project cost estimating, proposal generation and invoicing
• To participate in sales and proposal presentations if required
• To be responsible for achieving defined utilization and revenue goals
• To identify additional product/services opportunities in customer organization
• After the initial ‘introduction period’ the position provides the individual with the opportunity to work actively in implementation projects from start to finish
• You will be expected to work independently at clients, but sometimes within a team environment
• Ability to travel to customer sites with overnight stays is mandatory
• Travel outside the region may also be required for certain cases (30-35% travel)

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Strong knowledge in finance, manufacturing and distribution business processes and practices
• At least 3-5 years of Professional Work Experience in ERP systems, as a Consultant
• A self-driven and ambitious individual that can demonstrate the ability to perform tasks with quality and in a timely manner with a minimum of supervision
• Develop confidence through the interaction with clients and colleagues
• Earns respect of our clients through demonstration of adaptability, tact, commitment, resourcefulness, and proactive communications
• Acts with integrity and has a track record of excellent problem-solving skills
• Degree level education
• Certification in ERP systems is an advantage.

Job Description   

• A Sage X3 support department specialist consultant’s main responsibility is to provide development support to Sage X3 Solution Providers on any issues relating to Sage X3 products both functional and technical.
• To provide support on OEM vertical products and any third-party products that Sage SA distribute in Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate, support and advise on Sage X3 developments and customisations
• Provides support to the functional consultants
• Participate in product Beta testing and provide feedback
• Provide development and technical support and consultation to Business Partners
• Provide technical information on Sage X3 and Add-ons.
• Draw up technical & infrastructure specifications for Sage X3 installations
• Assisting Business Partners over the phone to resolve Sage X3 or Sage Add-ons development software issues..
• Analyse and troubleshoot Sage X3 issues raised by Business Partners and resolve development problems, documenting ticket actions and resolutions.
• Conducting development training courses on Sage X3
• Applying, testing and maintaining Sage X3 patch levels
• Building and maintaining of Sage X3 images
• Testing of new software for bugs
• Product demonstrations at workshops and conferences
• Conduct development audits of Sage X3 installations before Go-Live
• Classify, escalate and coordinate problem resolution
• Continuously update technical knowledge and learn new products and feature sets
• Document delivered solutions and update the knowledge database
• Provide mentorship to junior consultants

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Strong communicator
• Sage X3 Development 2 years (advantageous)
• Good knowledge of the Sage SAFE X3 development tool/4GL and Java; knowledge of .NET environments such as C# a positive
• Sage X3 System Administration
• Business and process Analysis
• Java developments
• Microsoft Server 2012 and higher
• Browser technology
• Microsoft SQL - writing stored procedures, views, and triggers.
• Mongo DB
• Programming in a 4GL language
