    Senior Accountant

    Job Brief

    • The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including entering journals, managing accounts receivable and payable, fixed asset management and using financial technology systems to enhance financial reporting.
    • The Senior Accountant ensures timely reconciliation and reporting of all financial statements and prepares financial analyses for key stakeholders as requested; and maintains fiscal records.
    • The Senior Accountant serves as the primary contact for internal staff on invoicing, bill payments, cash receipts and revenue, and budgets.
    • The Senior Accountant also implements and trains junior accountants on how to use software that streamlinesprocesses and improves distribution and accessibility of financial information.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensuring day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts receivable, inventory movements, and payrolls are recorded properly.
    • Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries for accruals and prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., fixed assets, investments, revenue, expenses, payroll allocations, etc.), ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate.
    • Ensuring proper revenue and expense recognition in accordance with IFRS.
    • Assisting the financial controller and other managers in developing and monitoring departmental, projects, and organizational budget; assisting with monthly financial reporting and analysis.
    • Performing fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of external auditors.
    • Oversee regulatory compliance, including tax filings, audit requirements, and annual returns submissions.
    • Maintain internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and financial regulations.
    • Actively partner and collaborate with the Financial Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
    • Continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting operations including training staff to better utilize financial and accounting software.
    • Partner with the human resources in preparing accurate payroll, pension remittances, PAYE remittances and staff HMO.
    • Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements.

    Educational Qualifications, Experience & Requirement

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. ACA, or ACCA is a must.
    • 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, financial planning and analysis, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
    • Experience working with senior leadership teams and cross-functional departments.
    • Knowledge of FMCG industry trends and financial best practices.
    • Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel (advanced level), and financial systems (e.g. SAP, SAGE, QUIKBOOKS).
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

    Management Accountant

    Role Overview

    • The Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial planning & analysis (FP&A) while also providing input in cost management and controls.
    • As the second-in-command to the Financial Controller, this role will provide strategic financial insights, ensure accurate financial forecast, and drive efficiency across the finance department.
    • The Management Accountant will also support business decision-making and ensure the financial health of the organization

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
    • Develop financial models to support decision-making and forecast future performance across key business units.
    • Provide variance analysis, highlighting key drivers of performance vs. budget/forecast, and work with financial controller/senior management to address performance gaps.
    • Analyze financial and operational data to provide insights into profitability, cost management, and financial trends.
    • Conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling to support strategic business initiatives.
    • Collaborate with department heads to monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and business performance metrics.
    • Analyzing costs and expenses to identify areas where costs can be reduced or controlled.
    • Providing recommendations for cost-saving measures and improvements in efficiency.
    • Oversee cash flow forecast and ensuring adequate liquidity for business operations.
    • Monitor accounts payable and receivable to optimize working capital.
    • Support investment and financing decisions, ensuring efficient capital allocation.
    • Act as the deputy to the Financial Controller, stepping in when necessary to manage departmental operations.
    • Lead process improvements in financial planning, reporting, and forecasting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Mentor and develop junior finance team members, ensuring continuous learning and professional growth.
