J&J Haven Clinical Recovery Institute is recruiting a qualified Registered Nurse, HBOT Nurse, Hyperbaric Chamber Operator, Chamber Technician, or clinically trained oxygen therapy professional to support our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy service in Abuja.
The ideal candidate must have experience or strong interest in HBOT, oxygen therapy, patient monitoring, post-operative care, ICU/theatre/recovery care, emergency care, anaesthetic support, respiratory care, or chamber operation.
This role is not for a general nurse with no interest in technical clinical treatment. We need someone safety-conscious, disciplined, medically alert, and willing to undergo chamber-specific training before independent operation.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing clients/patients before HBOT sessions
- Operating or assisting with operation of the hyperbaric oxygen chamber
- Conducting pre-session safety checks
- Monitoring vital signs before, during, and after treatment
- Ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout each HBOT session
- Screening for contraindications and escalating concerns to the medical supervisor
- Following oxygen safety and fire prevention protocols strictly
- Ensuring no prohibited items enter the HBOT chamber
- Documenting treatment sessions accurately
- Observing patients after treatment and reporting any side effects
- Supporting post-operative recovery clients where required
- Maintaining cleanliness, infection control, and treatment room readiness
- Reporting equipment issues immediately
- Following all J&J Haven clinical protocols, emergency procedures, and safety standards
Requirements
Candidates should have at least one of the following backgrounds:
- Registered Nurse / Midwife
- Nurse Practitioner
- Anaesthetic Technician
- ICU / Theatre / Recovery Nurse
- Emergency Nurse / Paramedic
- Respiratory Care Assistant / Oxygen Therapy Personnel
- Hyperbaric Chamber Operator
- HBOT Technician
- Diver Medic Technician / DMT
- Biomedical Technician with oxygen/pressure equipment experience
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following will be a strong advantage:
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy / HBOT
- Chamber operation
- Oxygen therapy
- Post-operative recovery care
- Cosmetic surgery recovery care
- ICU, theatre, recovery room, or emergency unit
- Vital signs monitoring
- Patient assessment and documentation
- BLS / CPR certification
- Fire safety or oxygen safety training
- Medical aesthetics or wellness clinic experience
