    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the development of the product vision, strategy, requirements gathering, functional design and technical roadmap.
    • Development of strategic marketing and sales plans.
    • Driving performance and income for a portfolio of services and manage all product development and management.
    • Responsible for the overall proposition development and delivery including, planning, use case creation, user experience, design, and commercial management.
    • Responsible for the entire products P&L.
    • Expert knowledge of product positioning & technical infrastructure including end-to-end product management lifecycle including customer development and user-experience.

    • Maintain the integrity of the entire product design while ensuring the correct solutions are being developed for clients and partners.
    • Provide regular and ad hoc reporting as required to the rest of the executive management and PAPSS board.
    • Manage the commercialization of PAPSS products and offering to customers.
    • Understand market trends and requirements and propose PAPSS product solutions that need to be produced as a result.
    • Engage with and influence senior level participants on PAPSS payments.

    Requirements
    Qualification and Skill:

    • Graduate degree or professional qualification required.
    • First degree in Computer Science, Management, Engineering, Economics or related fields.
    • Minimum 12 years’ experience with a significant tenure involved in payments and technology, with a strong understanding of the African payments landscape.
    • The candidate filling this role will be a senior product manager with strong digital product development, digital product marketing and sales, and programme/ project management skills, and must have prior revenue (P&L) responsibility.
    • Strong experience of large-scale technology payment product roll-outs, and the ability to communicate commercially whilst being able to dive into technical detail as required and the ability to collaborate successfully with stakeholders.
    • Ability to develop, and direct the implementation business development plans, marketing plans and sales plans.
    • Knowledge of digital currency required.
    • Understanding of payment and transfers dynamics and critical factors driving profitability that form input to product development and marketing.
    • Demonstrable experience with recognized product development and management methodology/ framework for products and services including direct involvement in the function design, business case, technical implementation and sales support.
    • Experience in several key payment business areas preferred, such as portfolio management, strategy, marketing, product management, operations, risk management.
    • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent presentation skills, including writing capabilities.
    • Good knowledge of mobile and card payments technologies and back-end banking systems.
    • Experience of working with and understanding relevant payment laws and regulations.
    • Relationship management skills particularly ability to influence and negotiate with senior executives.
    • Excellent communication in English with one of French, Arabic or Portuguese as an added advantage.

    General:

    • Oversee the public communication activities, including press releases on the website and other marketing channels or points of presence.
    • Manage the production and distribution of digital marketing materials (i.e. print, video)
    • Work with internal product teams to ensure compliance of all marketing materials to design principles.
    • Assist with the dealing of mass media and communication issues
    • Assist in managing media-related reputational risks.

    Requirements: Qualifications and Skills

    • First Degree in Business, Marketing Communication, Digital Media, Communication, Graphic Design or a related field plus a Postgraduate Degree.
    • A relevant professional qualification could be considered in lieu of a Postgraduate Degree.
    • 8+ years of related job experience. Prior start-up or agency experience is a bonus and strongly preferred.
    • Prior experience in digital media work, and visual communication and design.

    Requirements
    Qualification and Skill:

    • Minimum 15 years' experience out of which ten (10) years’ must be payments experience and knowledge across payment and settlement systems, cross-border payment services, payments regulatory and legal framework; and general understanding of payment services industry stakeholders.
    • Demonstrate experience and understand of Trade and African Trade in particular.
    • Banking experience and/ or sound knowledge of the banking system sector/ industry.
    • First Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management, Economics, or any related discipline and relevant post-graduate degrees. Graduate degree or professional qualifications is required.

    Process membership applications:

    Data Services and Research Framework:

    • Develop a Data Services framework that will use a combination of artificial intelligence/natural language processing (NLP), advanced data modelling, predictive modelling and other data analytics techniques to uncover insights or discover hidden opportunities, ideas and concepts that will guide strategic decisions.

    Intra-Regional Trade, Monetary Policy and Payment System Alignment and Growth:

    • Collect, analyze, and interpret international trade and intra-African trade data, information and regulations to provide analytical insights to the management.
    • Collect, analyze and interpret data on monetary economics and policy to support short, medium and long-term decisions of PAPSS Initiative management on the use of scarce third currency by member countries for settlement.
    • Examine the impact of PAPSS on trade and development of the participating countries and make recommendations to the Management and Board.
    • Manage the collection, processing, modelling and analysis of current macroeconomic (including monetary and fiscal accounts, financial sector indicators, balance of payments), microeconomic, and regional data, to provide insightful data and potential new knowledge to Head of PAPSS, Head of Product Management and Business Development and/ or other internal functions of the PAPSS Initiative.
    • Manage and support the collection and harmonization of data from multiple sources; trade and monetary economics and policy.
    • Assist the Head of PAPSS to prepare a variety of update and proposal reports with charts, tables, and descriptive text to use in the briefings to the Afreximbank President and the PAPSS Board.
    • Monitor financial market infrastructure (FMI) developments in order to keep PAPSS Initiative’s Management and Board apprised.
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships/contacts with regional trade institutions, and monetary institutions, and participates in meetings and conferences related to monetary cooperation.
    • Produce written intelligence reports about trends within intra-African trade, monetary economics and relevance of PAPSS.
    • Manage the compliance of PAPSS to the Pan African Payment Services Regulations under the AfCFTA.

    Presentation and Thought Leadership:

    • Support the development of Thought Leadership through accurate and well-articulated papers; white paper, position paper, etc.
    • Support the preparation of Annual Reports to be published as well as other publications to make PAPSS a though leader in payments across Africa.
    • Help write, source content for and edit regular article or newsletter on the PAPSS website
    • Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders within and outside of the company.

    Requirements: Qualification and Skills

    • First degree in Economics, Statistics or related field. PhD is required, preferable in qualitative economics and modelling.
    • Have a minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience working in any or combination of Trade Institution, Monetary Institution / Central Bank, Consulting or Financial Technology (FinTech) company.
    • Experience and/ or strong knowledge of data analytics and science.
    • Sound Knowledge of Macroeconomics with emphasis on trade exchange rate and fiscal policies.
    • Knowledge of and experience in the operation of Bilateral and Multilateral Exchange Rate Mechanism.
    • Ability to synthesize disparate data into concise written reports.
    • Strong understanding of regional payment system as a form of monetary cooperation.
    • Knowledge of intra-regional trade and its impact or relationship to regional payment system.
    • Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources.

    • Strong in Statistical, econometric and operational research techniques.

    • Act as the organization’s information security strategist and provide advisory on security direction and issues to the Head of PAPSS and management.

    Communications and Network Security:

    • Manage and maintain security for the organization networks both LAN and WAN including but not limited to production, development, sandbox, and participants.
    • Responsible for design, development, implementation and management of communications and network security of PAPSS infrastructure.
    • Manage the security assessment and monitoring of network implementations including but not limited to routing, switching, firewalls, VPC, VPN, VLANs, WiFi, TCP/IP, etc
    • Responsible for the security and resilience of PAPSS Virtual private network (VPN) e.g. site to site, DMVPN, etc with multiple central banks, financial institutions and Fintechs as well as multiple vendors.
    • Manage and ensure secure communication channels for the PAPSS critical cross-border infrastructure as well as the organization.
    • Basic knowledge of networks, setting up and maintaining servers and security-access/profiles.

    Security Architecture and Assessment:

    • Responsible for the secure design principles of the PAPSS including but not limited to design, monitor and redesign of fundamental concepts of security models to assess and mitigate vulnerabilities in system as well as to be ahead of continuous and evolving threats and cyber threats.
    • Responsible for designing and overseeing the development and support of security capabilities of the PAPSS and other information systems, as well as designing and implementing physical security.
    • Manage the design and support of cloud security.
    • Design the network security architecture which underpins the interconnectivity of various participants across Africa and beyond to interoperate in PAPSS ecosystem.
    • Responsible for design, performance and analysis of security testing.
    • Manage the design, development and validation of security assessment and test strategies.
    • Develop framework for security control testing and collection of security process data.
    • Manage and conduct periodic internal and third-party IT security and risk audits to ensure compliance to security policies, standards and guidelines / procedures; and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to respond and resolve all external and internal security and risk issues raised.

    Security Operations and Incidence Management:

    • Oversee and direct information security activities in line with the information security operations and programme / framework.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and education/awareness regarding security initiatives to embed security management processes throughout the organization.
    • Lead operational implementation, support and monitoring of organizational security policies to support internal controls and PAPSS critical infrastructure including identity and access management, intrusion detection, vulnerability scan and monitoring, patch management, anti-virus, security awareness, cloud security monitoring, contingency planning and testing etc.)

    • Manage and lead all activities relating to cybersecurity resilience planning, contingency planning, business continuity management and IT disaster recovery in conjunction with relevant functions and third parties.

    Requirements
    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Graduate degree and professional qualifications are required.
    • Relevant Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science, Management, Engineering or related fields.
    • 12+ years of Information Security Management experience required.
    • Proven information security and risk management leader and expert in the architecture planning, design, development, delivery, monitoring and support of enterprise-class security for critical infrastructures and systems, both on cloud and on-premise.
    • Experience in Real-Time Payment or Instant Payment networks is a big advantage.
    • Information security management or related qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, CSA, CCSK, CRISC, GIAC certifications, ISO 27001 are required.
