Flutter Mobile Engineer at Turbham Limited

We are looking for a skilled Flutter developer to join our engineering team on a project-based contract. You will be embedded within our existing development team to build a fully-featured mobile application — iOS and Android — that mirrors and extends our established web platform. This is a hands-on, collaborative role where you will work closely with our product, design, and backend teams to deliver a high-quality, production-ready mobile experience.

The contract is project-scoped, with strong potential for extension or a longer-term engagement for the right candidate who demonstrates initiative, quality, and great team chemistry.

What you will be doing

• Translate existing web application features, flows, and UI patterns into a native-feeling Flutter mobile app for iOS and Android
• Collaborate daily with our existing developers to align on architecture decisions, APIs, and shared business logic
• Work with our design team (or existing design system) to implement pixel-accurate, responsive, and accessible UI components
• Integrate with existing REST or GraphQL backend APIs and handle state management cleanly and scalably
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented Dart code — with unit and widget tests to support it
• Participate in code reviews, contributing to a healthy engineering culture
• Raise flags proactively when you spot technical risks, scope creep, or integration challenges
• Support QA and participate in bug triage during testing phases
• Help define and adhere to mobile-specific performance standards (startup time, frame rate, memory footprint)
• Assist with app store submission processes for both Google Play and the Apple App Store

Must-have

• 3+ years of professional mobile development experience, with at least 2 years using Flutter and Dart
• Demonstrable experience shipping Flutter apps to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store
• Solid understanding of Flutter's widget tree, rendering pipeline, and lifecycle management
• Proficiency with at least one major state management solution (Riverpod, Bloc/Cubit, Provider, or GetX)
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling async operations cleanly
• Familiarity with mobile UX patterns and platform-specific conventions for both iOS and Android
• Strong ability to work independently, interpret requirements, and ask the right questions
• Comfortable using Git in a collaborative multi-developer environment (branching, PRs, conflict resolution)

Nice to have

• Experience building mobile apps that are direct counterparts to an existing web application
• Familiarity with Firebase services (Auth, Firestore, Push Notifications, Crashlytics)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile (Fastlane, Codemagic, GitHub Actions)
• Exposure to native Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift) for writing platform-specific plugins
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) applied to mobile
• Experience with deep linking, push notifications, and background processing
• Knowledge of secure data storage practices on mobile devices
