    Credit and Analytics Lead, Nigeria

    In this role, you will help to solve analytical problems across the organization and grow profitability by proposing product and strategy changes. You will make data-driven decisions to optimize performance in various areas across the product, growth, and operations strategy. As the lead, you will help the team achieve their goals through servant-style leadership, removing roadblocks, and clear communication.

    Here are some things you'll do

    • Monitor performance and drive changes in credit policy of our Nigeria portfolio to optimize profitability and reach growth targets
    • Collaborate with data science, product, marketing, collections, and engineering to propose experiments and policy changes
    • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify underlying explanations for changes in portfolio performance, develop data-driven solutions, and evaluate expected portfolio impacts
    • Propose data-driven product changes to improve customer experience and company profitability. Partner with product and engineering teams to implement your solution into production
    • Develop statistical models to assist in pricing and user segmentation for capital markets transactions and financial data analysis

    Minimum Requirements

    • 8+ years of relevant experience
    • Fluent in SQL and Excel. Proficiency in R/Python, or similar statistical analysis tool, is a plus
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Enthusiasm for working across cultures, functions, and time zones

    Preferred Requirements

    • Previous experience in analytics and/or quantitative modeling, using large datasets
    • Experience in analyzing, visualizing, and communicating impactful insights to management, investors, and/or auditors

    Android Software Engineering Intern, Remote – Nigeria

    As a software engineering intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers at Branch and make significant contributions to our products and code base for 4-6 months. You will brainstorm, design, code, debug, and ship features serving our millions of customers while picking up skills necessary for your career.

    Responsibilities

    • Build out functionality for existing and new product lines and platforms such as Lending, Investments, Wallet, Payments, KYC, Customer lifecycle management, etc., for the Android platform.
    • Integrate with various third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platform

    Qualifications

    • Have some experience building native Android applications that are more than just toy projects. Applications with real users or an open-source project would be a great plus.
    • You have a solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, Android SDK, and a strong understanding of app architecture.
    • You should be able to use Android Studio, including the Android SDK, easily.
    • Functioning knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
    • Know your way through various flavors of Unix and commonly used command line utilities.

    Head of Finance, Nigeria

    This role will report to the International Controller and the Nigeria Managing Director.

    Here are some things you’ll do

    • Manage the budgeting process and general long-term financial planning while working with stakeholders across different departments including the Global Head of FP&A 
    • Coordinate financial reporting process with periodic variance analysis to ensure timely and accurate production of financial results.
    • Co-lead fundraising activities which involve (but are not limited to) attending roadshows and managing investor engagements
    • Liaise with external Auditors for annual financial audits and preparation of statutory financial statements.
    • Oversee the finance team by ensuring their alignment with assigned roles and responsibilities, and establishing accountability via coaching/mentoring. 
    • Support the Compliance team  and other departments  to ensure conformity with regulatory requirements
    • Ensure all statutory tax provisions and deductions   (PAYE/VAT/WHT/Corporate tax) are reconciled and filed in a timely manner.
    • Build relationships with existing and prospective bank partners to optimize processing costs and other related services.
    • Periodically review existing finance team tools and processes to ensure team efficiency 

    About you

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or a related discipline
    • Professional finance certification e.g. ACCA, ICAN, CFA
    • 6+ years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance position in a financial services organization, FinTech, or regulated company environment, with at least 2 of those in a management role.
    • Knowledge of relevant IFRS accounting standards
    • Detail-oriented, analytical with a strategic mindset
    • Knowledge of the Nigerian investment management landscape
    • Experience working with a recognized ERP system; Netsuite by Oracle preferred.
