    Devops Engineer

    Location: Osapa-London

    Job Mode: Hybrid (Twice on site)

    As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll maintain the product stack and build/launch new world-class products while understanding the business, identifying risks in code/features/design, and staying current on global fintech trends and emerging tech. The role demands quality-first thinking, strong attention to detail, a bias toward automation over manual work, and comfort in rapid, iterative environments across multiple concurrent projects. You’ll collaborate across product, engineering, and architecture teams with an analytical, methodical, curious, and proactive approach to problem-solving and adopting new tools.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Infrastructure & Architecture: Propose, scope, design, and implement scalable, highly available, resilient AWS infrastructure using Terraform/Ansible with Autoscaling Groups, Security Groups, Route53, S3, IAM. Manage data sources like MySQL, Mongo, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Hadoop.CI/CD & Automation: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable daily code delivery. Automate processes, write scripts in Python/Perl/Groovy/Java/Bash, and create coding standards for efficiency.
    • Cloud & DevOps Tools: Programmatically create/configure AWS infrastructure. Maintain platform configuration management, troubleshoot issues, and keep up to date with modern DevOps/cloud technologies.
    • Deployment & Release Management: Participate in planning delivery timelines and code quality. Deploy applications across dev/prod environments using compatible technologies/infrastructures. Handle day-to-day administration to “keep the lights on”.
    • Monitoring & Reliability: Set up/monitor metrics, reporting, alerting, and escalation mechanisms. Focus on high availability, performance, and system scalability. Ensure 24/7 system resilience.
    • Security: Protect customer data with continuous security practices and monitoring. Manage AWS Security Groups, IAM, and implement best practices.
    • Collaboration & Process Improvement: Work closely with developers, architects, and agile teams to identify bottlenecks, weaknesses in dev process, and offer holistic solutions. Coordinate to understand and fix pain points.
    • Development & Tools: Build independent web-based tools, microservices, and solutions. Specify/document new project features and standards. 
    • Documentation & Support: Document infrastructure, processes, features, and best practices. Maintain knowledge of configuration/troubleshooting and provide coherent end-to-end support from conception to delivery.

    REQUIREMENT

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years active post-graduation experience as DevOps/SRE/System Engineer 
    • Basic experience in coding/scripting implementing large-scale cloud architectures on container platforms
    • Agile/multifunctional team experience required + advocacy for agile environments
    • AWS expertise in EC2, ECS, ECR, Route53, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, IAM, Redshift etc
    • Automation/IaC: Terraform + Ansible mandatory. Puppet/Chef knowledge 
    • Containers: Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, Compose - strong hands-on experience
    • CI/CD: Jenkins + Travis/Drone/Spinnaker/Mule - managed + self-hosted tooling
    • Programming/Scripting: Fluent in Python + Bash/Perl/Groovy/Java. Linux OS, SQL, PL/SQL required
    • Networking: DNS, VPC, subnetting, VPNs, Firewalls, SSL, TCPDUMP, CDNs, cloud networking/storage/caching
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to work collaboratively.

    Salary: ₦250,000 Net
