Job Summary

• Our client is seeking an experienced IP Core Senior Network Engineer to manage, optimise, and troubleshoot IP backbone networks within a telecommunications, ISP, or large-scale enterprise environment.
• The ideal candidate must possess advanced expertise in IP routing and switching technologies, particularly BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS, with a strong track record of managing complex network infrastructure and ensuring optimal network performance, reliability, and availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot IP routing protocols, including BGP (eBGP/iBGP), OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS across internal and external network peers.
• Optimise network traffic paths, manage peering and transit traffic profiles, and implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prevent congestion.
• Monitor IP backbone network performance, identify potential issues, and implement appropriate corrective measures.
• Provide second-level network monitoring, troubleshooting, and technical support.
• Coordinate with vendors on network-related incidents, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Maintain network stability, reliability, and optimal performance through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Provide cross-functional technical assistance to support network operations and related teams.
• Ensure effective network operations and incident resolution within a 24/7 work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with a focus on networking technologies.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in IP network engineering within a telecommunications, ISP, or large-scale enterprise environment.
• Proven experience managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IP backbone networks.
• CCNP certification or an equivalent-level certification from other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
• CCIE-level mastery of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS is essential.
• Hands-on experience with routing and switching platforms, including Cisco IOS-XE, IOS-XR, Nexus, Huawei, and Sophos.
• Detailed knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocols and technologies, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technically demanding environment.
• Willingness and ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment.
