Quality Assurance Engineer / Tester at Jibs-Ray Nigeria Limited

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer / Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and working closely with development teams to resolve issues. You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality software by implementing best practices in manual and automated testing.

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and usability testing.
• Perform manual and automated testing to identify bugs, defects, and inconsistencies.
• Report, track, and verify defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
• Conduct API testing (Postman, SoapUI) and database validation (SQL queries).
• Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in QA methodologies.
• Contribute to the development of automated test frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Appium, etc.).
• Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing for web and mobile applications.
• Assist in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.

Qualification & Requirement

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 2+ years in software testing (manual & automated).
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, etc.).
• Familiarity with programming/scripting (Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Please note that this is a fully onsite role

Skills and Tools

• ISTQB or similar QA certification.
• Experience with mobile testing (iOS/Android).
• Knowledge of security testing (OWASP, penetration testing).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
