Role Summary
The Principal HR Consultant is a senior client-facing leader responsible for originating, shaping, and delivering high-impact HR and organisational transformation engagements. This role combines business development, executive advisory, and delivery leadership, with accountability for revenue growth, client outcomes, and thought leadership.
You will operate as a trusted advisor to senior executives, translating business challenges into structured HR solutions, while building and leading high-performing consulting teams.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Market Leadership
- Originate and convert consulting opportunities across HR advisory, organisation design, and talent development.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline, driving revenue growth and profitability.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing client accounts.
- Develop market-relevant solutions and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership and brand positioning.
Client Advisory & Engagement Leadership
- Lead end-to-end consulting engagements from diagnosis to implementation.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the C-suite and senior leadership, influencing key business decisions.
- Frame client problems in a structured, data-driven manner to deliver solutions.
- Ensure delivery of measurable outcomes aligned to client business objectives.
Coaching & Capability Building
- Coach senior client stakeholders on leadership effectiveness, organisational design, and workforce strategy.
- Mentor and develop internal consultants, building consulting capability and advisory depth.
- Lead high-impact workshops, executive sessions, and transformation programs.
Stakeholder Influence & Change Leadership
- Drive alignment across complex stakeholder environments.
- Influence decision-making at the executive level with credibility, insight, and commercial awareness.
- Lead large-scale change and transformation initiatives across organisations.
Delivery Excellence & Commercial Discipline
- Ensure quality delivery across multiple engagements, balancing scope, timelines, and profitability.
- Oversee project governance, risk management, and client satisfaction.
- Contribute to pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and margin optimisation.
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- 10–15+ years’ experience in HR, with 5+ years in consulting or advisory roles.
- Proven track record in winning and leading consulting engagements.
- Experience working with senior executives on organisational transformation, talent strategy, or change initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or professional certifications (CIPM, SHRM, ATD) preferred.
