    Medical Receptionist

    Job Summary

    • The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors at KICTC.
    • This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment, providing accurate information, and supporting the smooth flow of patient care.
    • The Medical Receptionist will manage front desk operations, handle patient registration, appointments, and inquiries while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
    • By combining excellent communication with organizational skills, this role supports KICTC’s mission of delivering world-class, patient-centered cancer care.

    Key Responsibilities
    Front Desk & Administrative Support:

    • Welcome patients, families, and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and compassionate first impression.
    • Manage patient registration, verifying personal and medical information accurately.
    • Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments using clinic scheduling systems.
    • Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate departments.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
    • Process billing, receipts, and financial transactions in collaboration with the accounts team.
    • Provide administrative support such as filing, correspondence, and record keeping.

    Office Organization & Support:

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area at all times.
    • Ensure office equipment (phones, printers, computers, POS machines) functions correctly, reporting issues promptly.
    • File and organize essential records and documents efficiently, maintaining regulatory compliance and patient confidentiality.

    Patient Support:

    • Provide empathy and understanding to patients, offering reassurance and compassion in sensitive situations.
    • Offer accurate and concise information about services, procedures, and policies to patients and families.
    • Assist patients in completing forms, payments, and documentation requirements.
    • Direct patients to appropriate departments and ensure smooth flow of services.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of OND / NCE in Office Administration, Business Administration, Secretarial Studies, or related field.
    • A diploma or certification in medical office administration or customer service is an advantage.
    • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service, front desk, or administrative role.
    • Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is an advantage.

    • Strong customer service orientation with empathy and patience.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive information.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
