    MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning) Volunteer

    Job Summary:

    The MEAL Volunteer supports the organization in tracking program performance, collecting and analyzing data, ensuring accountability to beneficiaries, and promoting continuous learning and improvement. The role contributes to evidence-based decision-making and program effectiveness.

    Key Responsibilities

    Monitoring

    • Assist in developing and updating monitoring tools (data collection forms, trackers, surveys)
    • Support routine data collection from program activities
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Ensure accurate and timely entry of program data

    Evaluation

    • Support baseline, midline, and endline assessments
    • Assist in conducting surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions
    • Help analyze quantitative and qualitative data and also contribute to evaluation reports

    Accountability

    • Support feedback and complaints response mechanisms
    • Collect and document beneficiary feedback
    • Help track and follow up on reported issues
    • Promote transparency and ethical standards

    Learning

    • Assist in documenting lessons learned and best practices
    • Support preparation of learning briefs and reports
    • Participate in review meetings

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Basic understanding of Monitoring & Evaluation principles
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Good communication and report-writing skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
    • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Background in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies or mathematics 
    • Experience in data collection or research
    • Familiarity with tools like Kobo Toolbox, ODK, or similar data systems
