    In-House Legal Counsel

    The In-House Legal Counsel will be expected to provide legal guidance ensure legal compliance across our business units, managing contracts, mitigating risks, and supporting business operations. 

    Job Responsibilities 

    • Represent company’s clients in court proceedings, if necessary
    • Provide legal advice on company operations, contracts, policies, and regulatory compliance.
    • Advise on compliance matters and ensure the corporation operates within the law
    • Monitor and develop compliance policies and procedures.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate several contracts, including partnership agreements, and service agreements.
    • Conduct legal research and analysis on various corporate legal issues
    • Work closely with management to provide legal advice and risk analysis on business strategies and initiatives
    • Manage the contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with terms and deadlines
    • Identify and assess potential legal risks, developing mitigation strategies.
    • Advise on insurance coverage and claims.
    • Draft and review student enrollment agreements and partner contracts.
    • Advise on accreditation, licensing, and educational compliance.
    • Advise on employee contracts, policies, and HR compliance.
    • Assist with work visa applications and ensure immigration law compliance. Support corporate governance, including board meetings and regulatory filings.

    Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor\'s degree in law (LL. B) and admission to the Nigerian Bar
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an in-house legal counsel or in a corporate law firm.
    • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, intellectual property, and employment law.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    •  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
