    Head of School

    Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership and School Vision:

    • Develop and implement the school’s strategic plan in alignment with its mission and international benchmarks.
    • Provide visionary leadership that drives academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Position the school competitively within the international education landscape.

    Academic Excellence and Curriculum Oversight:

    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across all levels.
    • Oversee curriculum implementation.
    • Monitor academic performance, student outcomes, and assessment standards.
    • Promote a culture of inquiry, critical thinking, and global citizenship.

    Staff Leadership and Development:

    • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teaching and administrative staff.
    • Lead performance management systems, including appraisals and professional development plans.
    • Foster a collaborative and accountable staff culture focused on excellence.

    Student Welfare and School Culture:

    • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
    • Promote strong pastoral care systems and student well-being programs.
    • Uphold discipline, values, and ethical standards consistent with international best practices.

    Operational and Administrative Management:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including administration, facilities, and logistics.
    • Ensure efficient resource management and operational effectiveness.
    • Maintain high standards in school systems, processes, and infrastructure.

    Financial Management and Sustainability:

    • Work with finance teams to develop and manage the school’s budget.
    • Ensure financial sustainability, accountability, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Support strategic initiatives that enhance revenue growth and institutional development.

    Compliance, Governance, and Accreditation:

    • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and international accreditation standards.
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies, inspectors, and accreditation organisations.
    • Provide regular reports to the Board on school performance and strategic progress.

    Parent and Community Engagement:

    • Build strong relationships with parents to ensure transparency and effective communication.
    • Represent the school in the wider community and promote its reputation.
    • Lead initiatives that strengthen stakeholder confidence and engagement.

    Innovation and School Development:

    • Drive innovation in teaching, learning, and school management practices.
    • Lead school improvement initiatives and institutional growth strategies.
    • Integrate technology and modern educational practices into school operations.

    Performance Indicators:

    The Head of School will be evaluated based on:

    • Student academic outcomes and overall school performance
    • Staff performance, retention, and professional development
    • Success of strategic initiatives and school improvement plans
    • Parent satisfaction and stakeholder engagement
    • Compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
    • Financial stability and institutional growth

    Requirements:

    • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
    • A doctorate is an added advantage.
    • Relevant leadership or educational certification is highly desirable.
    • Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive experience in education, including
    • At least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of School, Principal, Vice Principal, or Academic Director).
    • Experience in an international school setting is strongly required.
    • Strong strategic leadership and vision
    • Deep understanding of international education systems and standards
    • Excellent organisational and operational management skills
    • Strong financial and resource management capability
    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
    • High-level problem-solving and decision-making abilities
    • Ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement
    • Strong knowledge of international curricula.
    • Experience with school evaluation, inspection, and accreditation frameworks.
    • Familiarity with modern educational technologies and data-driven decision-making.
