Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership, guiding the development and execution of long-term growth strategies aligned with the bank’s objectives.
• Oversee the bank's risk management framework, ensuring proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to optimise capital allocation, profitability, and shareholder value, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats, and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making and market positioning.
• Drive the integration of innovative technologies and digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and capitalise on market opportunities.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and industry partners, to support business growth and enhance competitive advantage.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, corporate governance standards, and ethical practices, maintaining transparency and integrity in all business operations.
• Establish and monitor performance metrics to evaluate progress against strategic objectives, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous performance enhancement.
• Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating the bank's vision, values, and strategic priorities.
• Provide leadership and guidance during crises or challenging situations, demonstrating resilience, agility, and effective decision-making to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study required.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.

Skills, Experience & Attributes.

• Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in any reputable financial institution with proven track records of achievement, with at least 4 years at managerial position/s of a reputable financial institution.
• Deep understanding of the mortgage banking industry coupled with strategic thinking skills is vital.
• Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating various types of risks inherent in mortgage banking operations is indispensable. This includes credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and compliance risk.
• Strong analytical skills are essential for evaluating financial data and assessing the bank's risk exposure.
• Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements governing mortgage banking is critical.
• The ability to make informed and timely decisions is paramount.
• Effective communication is key for conveying risk management strategies and insights to stakeholders, including senior management, board members, regulators, and investors.
• Familiarity with risk management tools and technologies is beneficial.
• Strong leadership skills are essential for guiding risk management teams and fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the bank.
