We are seeking a Finance Manager who will be responsible for managing the company's finance and accounting functions, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, effective financial planning, and optimal utilization of resources. The role provides strategic financial guidance to management, oversees budgeting and forecasting processes, drives profitability, manages financial risks, and ensures the delivery of accurate and timely financial information.
The Finance Manager plays a critical role in monitoring the financial performance of sales, after-sales operations, spare parts inventory, workshop services, manufacturer relationships, and overall business profitability while supporting the organization's growth objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
Financial Reporting and Management Accounting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial records.
- Present financial performance reports and key performance indicators to management.
- Analyse business results and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
Budgeting, Forecasting and Business Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting and strategic planning process.
- Develop financial forecasts and long-term business projections.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate the financial viability of business initiatives and capital investments.
- Support departmental managers in achieving financial targets and objectives.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management
- Oversee cash flow planning and working capital management.
- Ensure adequate liquidity to support operational and strategic requirements.
- Monitor banking relationships, financing arrangements, and credit facilities.
- Approve payments and manage treasury activities in accordance with company policies.
- Optimize cash utilization and investment opportunities.
- Monitor foreign currency exposure and manufacturer payment obligations where applicable.
Taxation and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with tax laws, statutory requirements, and financial regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of all statutory returns.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities, regulatory agencies, and external advisors.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize tax efficiency.
- Ensure timely payment of taxes and statutory obligations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
Inventory, Cost Control and Profitability Management
- Oversee financial control of spare parts inventory, and workshop materials.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reportinWorkshop and After-Sales Financial Performanceg.
- Monitor inventory turnover, ageing, and stock utilization.
- Review and analyse gross margins on sales, spare parts, and service operations.
- Develop cost control measures to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor procurement costs and supplier performance.
- Evaluate pricing strategies and profitability across business segments.
Workshop and After-Sales Financial Performance
- Monitor the financial performance of workshop and after-sales operations.
- Review labour recovery rates, service margins, and workshop efficiency indicators.
- Analyse warranty claims, manufacturer reimbursements, and service profitability.
- Establish financial controls over workshop operations and inventory usage.
- Provide financial insights to improve after-sales revenue and profitability.
- Support management in optimizing workshop capacity utilization and operational performance.
Internal Controls, Risk Management and Audit
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control systems.
- Ensure adequate safeguards for company assets and resources.
- Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
- Ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.
- Promote a strong culture of governance, compliance, and accountability throughout the organization.
Stakeholder and Manufacturer Reporting
- Prepare financial reports required by manufacturers, distributors, and principal partners.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer financial reporting requirements and standards.
- Support negotiations with financial institutions, suppliers, and business partners.
- Provide financial information required by shareholders, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to business decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, ICAN, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience within the automobile, dealership, manufacturing, or related industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, treasury management, internal controls, and business analysis.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, accounting software, and advanced Microsoft Excel
