Accountant at Interdecima Systems Ltd

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, ensuring statutory compliance, and managing day-to-day accounting operations.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience using Sage Accounting Software and VT Transactions, with strong bookkeeping and reconciliation skills.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and reconciliations. 
• Produce monthly management accounts and support year-end financial statement preparation. 
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. 
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.

Bookkeeping & Transactions

• Process financial transactions using Sage and VT Transactions software. 
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions. 
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts regularly. 
• Maintain accurate cash flow records and monitor financial movements. 

Tax & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. 
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings. 
• Support external accountants and auditors during audits and financial reviews. 
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all financial activities. 

Payroll & Administrative Support

• Assist with payroll processing and pension submissions where required. 
• Support budgeting and expense monitoring activities. 
• Maintain organised financial records and filing systems. 

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and financial controls. 
• Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across finance operations. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
• ACA, ACCA, ICAN, AAT, or equivalent accounting qualification is an advantage. 
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ accounting experience. 
• Strong hands-on experience with Sage Accounting Software and VT Transactions is essential. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. 
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. 
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial controls. 
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience preparing management accounts. 
• Knowledge of VAT and UK financial compliance requirements. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Salary Range: N150,000 - N250000
