Accountant / Bookkkeeper at Okpere Memorial School

Okpere Memorial Group of Schools is looking for a competent and trustworthy Accountant/Bookkeeper to oversee the school’s financial record-keeping and support sound financial management. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the school’s financial operations.

The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting. Proficiency in accounting software, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a high level of integrity are required. Experience working in a school or private institution will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including receipts, payments, and invoices.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Oversee budget preparation and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and school policies.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practical experience using accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
• Minimum of a diploma/degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an accountant or bookkeeper, preferably in education or private institutions.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and trustworthy.
