Chief Operating Officer (COO) – FMCG at DET Consulting Limited

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and optimize operations within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end operations including production, supply chain, distribution, and administration, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and consistent product availability.
• This role requires a hands-on leader with strong expertise in manufacturing operations, process optimization, and large-scale team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across production, supply chain, warehousing, distribution, and administration.
• Drive operational efficiency to ensure optimal production output and minimal downtime.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize costs.
• Manage end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement, inventory, and distribution.
• Ensure consistent product quality and adherence to FMCG standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor KPIs such as production efficiency, inventory turnover, order fulfillment, and distribution timelines.
• Lead and manage cross-functional teams including plant managers, supervisors, and logistics personnel.
• Oversee demand planning and ensure alignment between production and market supply needs.
• Ensure effective utilization of resources including manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in operations and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, cost control, and profitability optimization.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Support the MD in executing growth strategies, expansion plans, and operational scaling.
• Prepare and present operational performance reports and insights to executive management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in operations, preferably within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
• Strong understanding of production processes, supply chain management, and distribution systems.
• Proven experience managing large teams and multi-department operations.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, demand planning, and logistics coordination.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness with experience in cost control.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand FMCG environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
