Job Overview

The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership and oversight of the Bank’s financial management, treasury, capital planning, and regulatory reporting, ensuring financial stability, profitability, and optimal capital utilisation in support of mortgage banking operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with the Bank’s growth and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and execute financial strategies to rapidly grow the balance sheet and optimize capital adequacy in line with the Bank’s expansion goals.
• Oversee finance, accounting, treasury, budgeting, and regulatory reporting functions.
• Manage liquidity, capital adequacy, funding, and balance sheet optimisation.
• Provide financial oversight of mortgage portfolios, asset valuation, and provisioning.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, CBN, NDIC, and tax regulations.
• Lead capital raising, investment management, and ALM activities.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the MD/CEO and Board.
• Oversee full compliance with IFRS, CBN, and NDIC regulations, ensuring meticulous financial, tax, and regulatory reporting. 
• Strong knowledge of CBN guidelines, mortgage banking operations, and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
• Serve as a key strategic advisor to the MD/CEO and Board on financial structures, investment management, and institutional transformation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• Professional qualification mandatory (ICAN, ACCA, or CPA).
• Master’s degree (MBA or MSc Finance) added advantage.
• Minimum 13 years’ post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years in senior management roles within mortgage banking or financial services.
